4 Adult education in OSAO Training can be provided at an educational institute or in the form of apprenticeship training. Adult education at Oulu Vocational College is a flexible way to acquire and develop knowledge and skills needed in working life. While continuing to work, students can complement their skills through evening classes, multiform education or e-learning. Apprenticeship training, an attractive alternative Apprenticeship training is hands-on learning at a workplace complemented by theoretical studies: on-the-job learning (guided and goal-oriented study at the workplace) periods of knowledge-based teaching independent/self-study A contract of temporary employment = A fixed-term employment contract (apprenticeship contract) is signed by the parties of the apprenticeship training employer and employee. 5 Adult education in OSAO The employer pays wages according to the collective agreement for the duration of the training. Oulu Vocational College provides apprenticeship-based training for all valid vocational qualifications. Adult education is mainly carried out as competence-based qualifications.
