The Women's Center has been empowering women and children through a variety of programs since Our oldest and largest program is a 24- hour emergency shelter for battered women and their children. In addition to physical safety, the shelter provides personal advocacy, information and referral, support groups, and education for the larger community about violence and its effects. We endeavor to provide those necessary and beneficial human services that together with client effort and responsibility, family support, and efforts of the private sector, will offer residents the opportunity to maintain or recapture productive and meaningful lives. OCHRA administers programs that provide rental assistance to tenants and rehabilitation funds to both homeowners and rental property owners. In addition, the Olmsted County HRA manages county- owned rental properties and partners with local agencies to provide other programs to increase the availability of affordable housing to residents of Olmsted County.
