Duration : One Year (12 months) from the date of joining. Term may be further extended in same or other project on the basis of annual performance. Type of Service : Contractual Salary : Rs 50,000/- per month (fixed) The salary may be raised in subsequent years subject to provision made in the project or as per the prevailing rules/systems in EPCO. Background: Environmental Planning and Coordination Organization (EPCO) is registered society under The Urban Development and Environment Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. EPCO works with Government as well as non- Governmental agencies for sustainable solutions for solving environmental problems. One of the major roles that EPCO performs is to mainstream environmental concerns in various development initiatives of the state. As an autonomous organization of the State Government, EPCO enjoys easy access to all Government stakeholders in the State to facilitate and coordinate environment and climate change related works in the state. State Knowledge Management Center on Climate Change (SKMCCC): State Government has declared EPCO as the State Designated Agency for Climate Change and State Nodal Agency for Climate Change Knowledge Management. As per the intent of the vision document of Govt. of M.P., the State Knowledge Management Center on Climate Change (SKMCCC) has been setup within EPCO. The mission of State Climate Change Knowledge Management Center is: To become center of excellence and knowledge hub in the country to cater to the information and knowledge needs of policy makers, scientific community and general public on issues related to climate change through collection, synthesis and dissemination of knowledge. For more detail please visit Duties and Responsibilities of the incumbent: Under the overall supervision of the Executive Director EPCO and the direct supervision of Coordinator, SKMCCC the position of the Subject Expert (Climate Change Mitigation) is seen as a key resource for providing technical assistance, supporting coordination of all technical and project management related activities of State Knowledge Management Center on Climate Change to achieve its objectives. Assisting Coordinator, SKMCCC in facilitating concerning State Government Departments to formulate project for implementation of MP SAPCC, identifying avenues for funding and leveraging resources for implementation. Assisting State Govt. Departments in preparation of state specific and sector specific strategies for Climate Change Mitigation. Review and technical vetting of projects submitted by different departments on climate change mitigation and capacity building etc. Coordinating with Central Ministries and other Central Departments for mobilizing resources for implementation of SAPCC strategies, preparation of appropriate projects on climate change. 3

4 Organising Meeting, Seminars, Training programme, Information & Knowledge Dissemination, Workshops. Preparation of scientific and technical reports on climate change. Assist in developing training material and organizing training for policy makers, govt. officials, NGOs, CSOs and Media representatives and other stakeholders on climate change and allied issues etc. Project management related activities viz preparation of quarterly, six monthly and annual project reports, Utilization Certificate, Expenditure Statement, Audit etc. Process Documentation of various activities being organized by EPCO/SKMCCC. Facilitate and coordinate with the outreach centers of the SKMCCC. Provide technical assistance on Climate Change and Project Management issues. Any other task assigned by ED EPCO or Coordinator in the interest of SKMCCC, EPCO, UD&ED, Govt. of MP. Qualification and Experience: Post Graduate Degree / Diploma in Forestry Management / Natural Resource Management with Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering OR M.Tech in Renewable Energy Engineering or M.Tech in Energy & Environment and having minimum two years of experience in the field of climate change policy planning and project management at National & State level. Expected Skills: Good facilitation and communication skills. Excellent writing and presentation skills. Ability to work under pressure. Good interpersonal skills and flexible attitude. Ability to liaise and work with people of different backgrounds. Excellent working knowledge of MS Office-Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Intra-Internet, applications etc. Knowledge of other supportive applications such as GIS, Publisher and some multimedia tools would be useful. Ability to travel at short notices. Developing web based applications, facilitate website maintenance and content management systems. Supervise IT related tasks and operations at SKMCCC. Assist technically in organising Meetings, Seminars, Training programme, Information & Knowledge Dissemination Workshops. Assist the Subject Experts, Project Consultants and Junior Research Fellows in their technical works. Data collection & compilation along with process documentation, etc. Assist in coordination of project management functions and other activities of the center.
