1 Volume 1, No. 36 February 2012 Dear members, The 2nd UPI International Exhibition of Photography 2012 is over with increase of the number of participants more than 30% comparing with the previous year. The list of winners and acceptances are already send to all the participants and are also been uploaded in UPI s website. After the General meeting that will be held in Brussels on 22 of April, there will be a presentation- show of the acceptances and the winning photos. The elections for the Governing Board of UPI are in almost two months The General meeting and the elections will be, as I already have informed you on 22 of April in Kasteel La Motte (Castle La Motte), Lumbeekstraat 20, 1700 Sint Ulriks-Kapelle, Brussels, Belgium. The agenda of the General meeting has already been sent to you. All the members, that are finance update, can vote by post, or , or by their present there. You will be all notified in the next days, with the details concerning the way of voting (post or ) and the subjects of the voting. I try to organise with my Chinese friends again an exhibition in China end of this year. 4 Reha BİLİR (Turkey) Distinctions :AFIAP, Hon.FBPS Position today in UPI: Representative of UPI of Turkey. President of International Art Photography Association. (UFSD) I have been in art photography since 37 years. I am the member of four different clubs in Turkey and two of them are honorable memberships. I had exhibitions and presentations in several countries as Greece, Japan, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, Kazakshtan, Italy, Romain and China. I am the one of the most award winner photographer in Turkey in national and international competitions. And I am the organizer of some international and national competitions in my country. I have an art gallery in my home city; Konya. Also I am teaching photography in Fine Art Faculty of Selçuk University in my home city. Philosopher Rûmi says; not the people who speaks the same language can understand each other, but the people who feels the same feelings. I want to combine Turkish Art Photography with World Art Photography by the connective force of UPI. So, we will have a peaceful world by the contribution of art photography.

5 CLAUDIO CALOSI ( Italy) calosi@unisi.it Born in Tuscany, Italy, in Member of FIAP, he got AFIAP in 2001 and EFIAP in He s actually EFIAP/S (Silver level). Member of UPI, is UPI CR3 and member of the Governing Board. Member of FIAF (Federazione Italiana Associazioni Fotografiche), has been a component of the Foreign-Department directory-board. Member of Fotoclub 3 ASA and President ( ). He teaches general photography and nature photography. His images of natural landscapes, wild animals and social reportage are spread in magazines, catalogues, books and calendars and showed in several cities all around the world. Among these, he was invited to the show 6 Italian Photographers in Rasht (IRAN, 1989), the first show by western photographers in the Iran of Ayatollah Khomeini after Islamic Revolution. Judge of national and international photo salons. Winner of numerous prizes, he is present in the FIAP and PSA statistics of the top photographers since Major Awards: the World Cup at the 11th Fiap Nature Biennial of Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2001; the World Cup plus the Top Animal personal prize at the 12th Fiap Nature Biennial of Adelaide, Australia, in He got to the finals at the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2002 and Highly Commended at the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awarded at IPA (International Photography Awards), USA Nature Photographer of the Year In 2006 he was invited two times by The State Council Information Office of China and CPA (Chinese Photographers Association) to take part in the project Xinjiang in the eyes of Chinese and foreign famous photographers In 2007 he was invited by CPA (Chinese Photographers Association) to take part in the project Henan in the eyes of the world famous photographers Purpose of candidature: to spread culture of photography, thematic exhibitions in cities and on the website, a school of photography and technical Fotoforum to improve the skills of the UPI members.

7 LAHEYE FREDDY (Belgium) Distinctions : AFIAP Position today in UPI : Treasurer Member of photoclub Brussels since 1957, secretary since 1972 and doing mostly everything since 15 years to keep the club going. Founding Member of UPI Treasurer for UPI since 2009 but not as board member. As UPI recently became a registered non profit organisation, it is mandatory that the treasurer is member of the board. I have a financial Background.

8 JOHN LAW (England) Distinctions : UPI 4 CROWN, MFIAP, FRPS Position today in UPI : Board member, Representative of UK, license officer, involved with distinction assessments and coordinator of "articles" for newsletter. I am a national lecturer and regional judge. As native English speaker I can be very useful to UPI board. I am very good public speaker and passionate photographer. I also have the passion to share with others and especially with younger photographers via workshops and lectures. I have many years of experiences in ISF at board level (through the good and less good time)and i can now apply these experiences (what works what does not work) with UPI. I am willing to continue and develop the growing UPI licensing "activity".

Position today in UPI: President of UPI, The man in charge of UPI Medals and HM's I have been 23 years in the amazing world of photography, with 21 years of giving and experience in the Governing Board of HPSC.I have been a member of the jury in many international photographic competitions in Italy, Serbia, Austria, Slovenia, Holland. I am an international lecturer for different photographic issues and workshops. I have been participating for 20 years in international photographic exhibitions with many awards and acceptances. Personal exhibitions have been made in several countries like Greece, Romania, Ukraine, Belgium and Egypt. I have very good public relations with photographers all over the world. I am one of the organizers of many photographic exhibitions for UPI and HPSC members. I have been teaching fine art photography for ten years in Technical Institute of Higher Education of Iraklion and four years in University of Crete. My main target is to make UPI one of the best photographic associations all over the world.

10 MILOVANOVIĆ MAKSIMOVIĆ MARIJA (Serbia) Distinctions: EFIAP, KMF FSS Position in Serbia: Member of the governing board of photo club "Beograd" Position today in UPI: Board member, Representative of Serbia The last 2 years that I have been in Governing Board, I helped making UPI known to my country, to our photoclubs and registered new members and so far more than 10 international exhibitions in Serbia requested UPI licence. As my work is helping producing a photographic magazine in my country, I can continue helping UPI, by promoting it in magazine and also through contact with photographers in region.

11 Nikiforakis Polichronis (Greece) Distinctions: UPI Cr 3, EFIAP/b, ESFIAP, PSA 3* Position today in UPI: Secretary General, UPI s website administrator I am veterinarian and I live and work in Iraklion in Crete, Greece. I am in the art of photography since Since 2000 I hold the position of General Supervisor in the second biggest photoclub of my country (Hellenic Photographic Society of Crete). I have organized a lot of exhibitions around Greece and I have judged in many national competitions and international Salons. I have also been involved in organizing the 2 nd Fiap Photomeeting in 2009, an effort that had as result the ESFIAP title, for an excellent organized week. The last 3 years I have worked hard as Secretary General, accepting all the applications of the new members, organizing UPI s data files, writing all the necessary documents, a newsletter every month to all the members of UPI (more than 35 already) and deciding with the president and the vice president for all daily issues that have came along the last years. With the President Metzakis Manolis we have organized two exhibitions with photos from UPI members. One in Iraklion and one in Athens in the most popular art exhibition of my country. I am also the administrator of UPI s website, responsible for sending usernames, checking, updating all the data (Salon s with license, announcements, e.t.) and controlling all the website. Having all this experience in many levels I can help develop more our organization, improving many things with new ideas and enthusiasm as I love the administrative work.
