20 Logistics development during the past years /04: Paperless picking of orders for stores in ICA s warehouses /05: AOS Automatic orders in stores (based on checkout sales) 2004: ICA launches own pre-packed meat. Refrigeration chain throughout whole flow (HACCAP, first in Sweden with these low temperatures). Mixed product range deliveries fewer goods deliveries to stores, fewer trucks, environment (always present but primarily with introduction of ICA meat in 2004) Order day 1, delivery day 2 (or even sooner). 2006: Infrastructure developed: new, highly-automated warehouse is opened in Helsingborg. Växjö and old warehouse in Helsingborg closed down. Changes to infrastructure mean less wastage and higher turnover. 2008: Production to order (fresh chicken and fresh fish). 2010: Infrastructure developed: programme launched to rationalise and reduce environmental impact, and to close down the warehouses in Umeå and Årsta : ICA To Go, convenience stores with several deliveries each day in city areas : ICA food bag, recipes and ingredienses for 4 dinners, first step towards commerce online. 2012/15: Network of cross-docking units that also handle high proportion of locally produced goods : One of ICAs head strategies; Online sales! Implementation Interpretation/Harmonization Validation - Support Item Identification - must work Barcodes must be implemented in a common way GDSN implementation, including extensions Common validation rules for GDSN Harmonized E-com processes One way of dealing with GLN registries Increase the speed of implementation An active, supportive and collaborative approach Then let s enter the new era of logistics together! 29 Background and purpose Background Cikab are introducing ESAP20 messages for orders and invoices to their suppliers The next step is to implement EDI messages for delivery notification, order acknowledgment and order confirmation Purpose The purpose of ESAP20 Phase 2 is primarily to streamline goods reception in the terminal by introducing EDI message delivery notification, and enable the so-called Single Scan Recieving Some improvements are also achieved in the product movement by introducing EDI message Order Acknowledgement and Order Confirmation The poor quality costs that currently occurs due to non-deliveries, inaccurate and late deliveries will decrease as the order flow becomes more transparent These messages are also a prerequisite for a number of other improvements, such as inbanor in terminal, CAO for direct deliveries, etc. Filnamn 30

30 Benefit analysis The introduction of so-called Single Scan Receiving causes a significant time savings when receiving goods at the terminals. The administrative work becomes more efficient and the business get a better basis for logistics planning and decision making regarding product supply This results in reduced administrative costs, inventory management efficiency and the level of service can be improved!
