Main Research Areas I am interested in study the synthesis and the mechanisms of deposition of metal nanoparticles on oxides and evaluate the obtained materials on catalytic reactions. My main areas of research are: 1. Deposition of monometallic and bimetallic nanoparticles of gold, silver, nickel, copper and iridium on reducible and non reducible powder oxides (e.g. TiO 2, CeO 2, Al 2 O 3, SiO 2, ZrO 2, MgO, ZnO, CuO) by liquid phase methods (deposition precipitation, ion adsorption, impregnation and colloidal routs). 2. Synthesis of metal oxides, pure and doped. 3. Catalysis focused on exhaust gas reactions (CO oxidation, NO reduction, total oxidation) 4. Catalysis focused on the production and purification of H 2 (Water Gas Shift reaction (WGS) and preferential CO oxidation (PROX)) 5. Photocatalytic degradation of organic compounds. 6. Photocatalytic production of hydrogen. 7. Study of optical properties of these materials We have facilities for sample characterization by UV-Vis, Raman spectroscopy, FTIR spectroscopy, DRIFTS, Z potential, particle size determination by laser light scattering, TPR, HPLC QQQ, TOC, ACE, and access to TEM, HRTEM, HAADF, EELS, EDS, XPS and XRD.

2 I have been in charge of 13 founded projects and currently I m in charge of 5 funded projects: PAPIIT-UNAM IN (Bimetallic catalysts supported on reducible oxides as catalysts for total oxidation and hydrogen purification reactions), ECOS-ANUIES-SEP, CONACYT, M10-P01 Characterization and catalytic evaluation of Au based bimetallic catalysts, CONACYT-MINCYT (Argentina) Bimetallic Au-M (M=Cu, Ir) for hydrogen purification reactions (PROX y WGS), a CONACYT-CONICET(Argentina) and a CONACYT- Ciencia Básica project.i m in charge at CCADET of SENER-CONACYT HDS # projet Catalysts for ultra low sulfur oils. Moreover I m participating in the nanoscience and nanotechnology network of CONACYT. 3.
