2 Welcome Address Dear Friends, After the successful ABA-NVA Meeting organised in Brugge last year, ABA decided to meet in front of the beach in the magical year We have the pleasure to announce that the ABA Meeting will be held at the Thermae Palace Hotel in Oostende, on Saturday May 6, The topics of the Meeting will be Arthroscopy in Non-Soccer Sports, Achilles Tendon Problems, Ethics and Medico-Legal Aspects in Sports and Free Papers. On behalf of the Belgian Arthroscopy Society (ABA), I look forward to meeting you in Oostende. Bruno Vandekerckhove President ABA About Oostende The enchanting city of Oostende will host the 2000 Congress of the Belgian Society of Arthroscopy. Oostende is not only known as a royal seaside resort, home base of the famous painter Ensor but it also hosts one of Belgium s best museums of modern art. The city is famous for its casino and for its horse race course located opposite the Thermae Palace Hotel & Congress Centre, which is one of the most exciting congress centres of Belgium thanks to its tradition, style and location in front of the beach.

The railway station of Oostende is located at a 20 minutes walk from the Congress Venue. The tram with destination De Panne has a stop in front of the Congress Venue (the tram station is located next to the railway station). Registration fees (in EURO) Pre-registration closes on April 30, 2000 Registration Fee At the venue Member ABA Non-Member Resident* *Certificate of training director is obligatory: without certificate, the NON-MEMBER FEE will be charged. Important: Pre-registration closes on April 30, For registration after this date, delegates will have to go to the on-site registration desk and will have to pay the at the venue registration fee. Accreditation Accreditation for Orthopaedics (60 pts) is requested. 30 accreditation points have already been allocated for Ethics and Economy. All participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance at the registration desk of the Congress. Confirmation Acknowledgement of registration, receipt of fees and confirmation of hotel reservation (with voucher) will only be sent after the Registration Form and payment in full are received. Cancellations Any participant cancelling his/her registration before April 15, 2000, will receive a refund, less 25 Euro covering administration costs. No refunds are made after this date. A written cancellation is mandatory for receiving a refund. Registrations can be transferred to a colleague at any time at an extra charge of only 25 Euro. Accommodation Accommodation for the Congress has been secured at attractive rates at the Thermae Palace hotel. The prices quoted are per day and include breakfast, services and taxes. Participants planning to arrive at the hotel after hrs should indicate this on their registration form. Failure to do so may result in the room being released by the hotel.

Exhibition An exhibition highlighting medical and surgical equipment, pharmaceutical products and books, will be held during the Congress. Access to the exhibition is free for all participants. Coffee and Lunch Coffee and tea will be available during the breaks between sessions and a light lunch is included in the registration fee. Liability In registering for the Congress, participants agree that neither the Congress Committee nor the Administrative Secretariat assume any liability. Participants should therefore organise their own health, travel and personal insurance.
