1 Lifelng Learning Certificate Guidelines Why LLC? Lifelng Learning is an imprtant cncept t adpt already at student phase and thus evaluating what we have learnt utside the lecture halls is an imprtant part f this. Emplyers als value extracurricular learning activities as well as the ability t articulate hw they have helped yu develp. The LLC reflectin frm is a tl fr this and the certificate smething cncrete where everything is summarised. Hw t receive LLC? General Requirements In rder t receive the Lifelng Learning Certificate, a student must: - Attend at least 2 EPSA Events Annual Cngress Autumn Assembly Summer University Annual Receptin Training New Trainers - Attend at least 1 External Event, Certified by EPSA Natinal Student Cngresses and Educatinal events, Lcal Sympsiums, Prfessinal Events, EPSA-Originated events, etc - Submit at least 5 reflectin frms frm the different events attended (EPSA and External events) - Cmplete minimum 10 hurs f educatinal prgram, within the events submitted. The sessins that culd be used t fill in a reflectin frm are: Trainings Wrkshps Lectures General Assemblies Educatinal experiences (e.g. grup wrk, panel discussins) Others in the same cntext 1/5

2 Even if a student has already submitted 5 reflectin frms, he/she can submit as many as wanted, nce the events attended will be listed in the Certificate, as lng as a reflectin frm is submitted. Please bear in mind that a reflectin frm shuld be sent maximum 1 mnth after the event. Hw shuld a reflectin frm be filled in? Reflectin frms are a tl t evaluate persnal develpment and summarize main learning utcmes. Belw yu will find an example f hw a reflectin frm shuld be filled in: Reflectin Frm fr the EPSA Life Lng Learning Certificate (LLC) Attending an event is just the ne part f the learning cycle! Reflectin n that event is anther imprtant part and this frm gives yu the pprtunity t d just that. Fr each activity that yu feel yu gained a lt frm please answer the questins belw and this will cunt t the LLC. Which activity/event did yu attend? State event s name, date, lcatin and rganizer, e.g.: APEF Annual Cngress, 17th-19th Nvember, Lisbn, Prtugal, rganised by the Natinal Assciatin f Prtuguese Pharmacy Students - APEF What was the tpic f this sectin? In this area, yu shuld state what the main tpic f the event was, and als, the tpic f the sessin(s) yu chse t reflect n. e.g. The main tpic f this cngress was Drug Interactin. Within the educatinal prgramme, there were a lt f trainings, and specifically the ne I chse t reflect n was Cmmunicatin. Why did yu chse t g t this event/cmplete this learning? Here yu shuld mentin what were yur reasns t attend the event, and especially the sessin yu chse t explre. e.g. I decided t g t this event because APEF is my Natinal assciatin and these student cngresses are always a great pprtunity t learn and share new experiences with ther Pharmacy students. 3 had t develp my cmmunicatin skills, especially thse cnnected t Pharmacist-Patient cmmunicatin. Which part f this activity/event was f greatest benefit t yu and why? Please explain what were the main things yu learnt during this activity r skills yu were able t develp further. e.g. In my pinin, the part that was mre imprtant fr me was the rle plays made during the training. I had the chance t put in practice the things that I have learned, and t receive feedback n that. After receiving feedback, we did anther exercise which includes rle plays and I can tell that the imprvements were bvius! Hw can yu use what yu have learnt in yur prfessinal r student life? Here yu shuld write yur thughts abut hw t use what yu have learnt in the future. e.g. This skill will be very useful in my day-by-day activities, and I am sure it will be even mre imprtant in my future as a pharmacist. As a student, I am always cmmunicating, with my friends, prfessrs, while ding a presentatin, and s n. As a future pharmacist, I will cmmunicate with the patient every day. S, I will use prper cmmunicatin every day, and s I think this is a really imprtant and useful skill. Hw d yu plan t develp what yu have learnt further yurself? e.g. In the future, I think I will be able t develp this cmmunicatin skill even mre when I ll be wrking at a Pharmacy. In the summer, during my internship, I ll be able t put in practice what I ve learned. As I am passinate n this tpic, I will search mre n this, and I ll try t find mre infrmatin that I culd use in my day-by-day practice. 4 Receiving the Lifelng Learning Certificate: Once yu feel yu wuld like t receive the fficial Lifelng Learning Certificate (and after fulfilling all the minimum requirements), yu must submit a request fr the Certificate t the Educatinal Affairs Crdinatr, at least 3 weeks befre the Annual Cngress. Lifelng Learning Certificates will be delivered in the Annual Cngress, r sent by e- mail if the student wn t be able t attend AC. Please nte that the Annual Cngress t which yu request the certificate is nt eligible fr that year s LLC. This lays n the basis that a reflectin frm must be submitted after the event and after reflecting n it. Fr example, t btain the LLC 2012/2013, a student must attend 2 EPSA events since 35 th EPSA Annual Cngress, Istanbul, 2012; until Annual Receptin, Brussels, EPSA Events Definitin An EPSA event is defined by an activity (c-)rganized by the EPSA Team where Pharmacy students frm the different EPSA member cuntries can reunite and share experiences. This event shuld include an educatinal cntent (e.g. sympsiums, trainings, wrkshps r lectures). There are 5 EPSA events per year: - Annual Cngress, Annual Receptin, Autumn Assembly, Summer University, Training New Trainers These 5 events are autmatically credited as EPSA events. External Events Definitin Natinal events are activities rganized and develped by EPSA members, at natinal level. These events must include an educatinal prgramme in rder t be accredited t the Lifelng Learning Certificate, like a sympsium, trainings, wrkshps, r ther activities with educatinal cntent (e.g.: NAPSer Annual Cngress, 5 th APEF Scientific Cngress, Summer Camp ŠSSFD). Lcal events have the same requirements as Natinal events, but are rganised in a mre lcal sense, by a lcal assciatin (e.g.: 3 rd Health Scientific Sympsium, AEFFUL). 4/5

5 Prfessinal events are activities with a scpe fr prfessinal sectr (e.g.: 25 th DIA Eurmeeting, 18 th EAHP Cngress). EPSA-Originated events are events which started with EPSA help in the past, but nw are rganised independently (e.g. Twinnet, Training Nrden, Training the Trainers - TtT). EPSA-Partnership Events are activities rganised by EPSA partners (e.g. mytraining by GSK, smart prject, IMP Training, IPSF Wrld Cngress) Hw t accredit a Lcal EPSA Event: (fr LSs) If an LS wants t see a lcal event accredited, he/she shuld send all the infrmatin abut the event s structure, speakers, main tpic, schedule, and ther details which fund imprtant, until maximum ne week after the event, althugh this prcess shuld be preferably dne befre the event. All these dcuments shuld be sent t edu.affairs@epsa-nline.rg (Educatinal Affairs Crdinatr cntact). After the cnfirmatin by the Educatinal Affairs Crdinatr fr the accreditatin f the event, a reflectin frm will be sent t the LS, it will als be available n the EPSA website.
