3 FTP Scanning Tips & Tricks - PageScope Cabinet and the FTP Utility will NOT run on Windows 2003, Vista, Server 2008 or Windows 7 use the IIS service within these Operating Systems- PageScope Cabinet needs to be open before scanning, or the FTP Service placed in the Startup folder of the PC. (see the Konica Minolta FTP & SMB Setup Guide for Windows) SMB * - On Windows 2003 Domain Controller Server, you may find that you need to change the Domain Security Setting Security Options/Microsoft Network Security/Digitally Sign Communications=(Always) should be changed to Disable The Server must then be rebooted for the modified policy to take effect * This should only be changed by the I.T dept of the customer - Scanning to 1st folder ensure all permissions are set for everyone, scanning to nested folders no other permissions are required directory set on copier= eg: 1stfoldername\scan\*\* etc. Folder names etc are case sensitive. - If you are connecting to an Exchange Server, Relay must be enabled for the Konica Minolta device on the server itself. - Alternatively a new account needs to be created on the SMTP server, and SMTP Authentication needs to be enabled under the Transmission settings on the MFP. (Please note that SMTP Authentication is not available on all machines) - In order for ANY Fiery print controller to scan to , an account needs to be set up on the server as if the machine were a new employee. - Remember to make sure Binary Division is disabled under the SMTP Settings. HDD - If using the PageScope Box Operator or the HDD TWAIN Driver to retrieve scans, please make sure you are using the correct version for the version of firmware the machine is running on. Box Operator Utility should be backwardly compatible with all versions of firmware, but will not be compatible with newer versions. - Older versions of Box Operator will not connect to newer versions of firmware and need to be upgraded at the same time as the firmware. The latest version of Box Operator can be downloaded from our website: 3

4 C203/C253/C353/C451/C550/C650 Emperon Controller SCAN TO HDD 1) Using Internet Explorer, type the IP address of the machine into the address bar and press Go 2) Click on the Box tab at the top of the screen 3) Click on Create User Box 4) Enter a User Box Name, Password if required and Index under which the machine will place the box. 5) Click OK and OK again to the Completed message 4

5 CREATING A ONE TOUCH BUTTON 1) Click on the Store Address tab 2) Click on New Registration 3) Choose User Box from the next screen and click OK 4) Leave the Use Opening Number option selected. * Give your scan button a name. (This is the name of the button that will appear on the machine). * Select the Index under which that button is to appear. * Enter the number for the box you created previously. If you are unsure what this box number was, click Search from List. You can then select the box and click OK 5) Click OK and then OK again Your box is now registered. 5

6 SCAN TO 1) Using Internet Explorer, type the IP address of the Konica Minolta machine into the address bar and press Go 2) Log in to Administrator Mode using the default password of: ) Under the Maintenance screen, click on Machine Setting 4) Enter an Administrator Name and Admin Address 5) Click OK and OK again. 6) Click on the Network tab at the top of the screen 7) Down the left hand side of the screen, click Setting, then TX (SMTP) 6

7 8) Ensure that TX Setting and Scan to are turned ON 9) Enter in the IP address or Host Name of the server 10) Enter a Device Mail Address 11) If required, turn on SMTP Authentication and enter a user name and password of a user set up on the server. It is recommended that if you need to use this setting, that a new account for the Konica Minolta device is created on the server. 12) Ensure that Binary Division is turned OFF 13) Click OK and log out of Administrator Mode 7

8 CREATING A ONE TOUCH BUTTON 1) Log in to the web interface as a Public User 2) Click on the Store Address tab 3) Click on New Registration and choose from the next screen. 4) Enter a Name for your button. (This is the name of the button that will appear on the machine. * Choose the Index under which this button will appear * Enter the address of the recipient 5) Click OK and then OK again Your button is now configured. 8

9 SCAN TO FTP For information on configuring either PageScope Cabinet or IIS, please refer to the following pages of the Konica Minolta FTP & SMB Setup Guide for Windows. PageScope Cabinet - Page 4 IIS/FTP Utility XP - Page 5 IIS Vista - Pages 6 IIS Server Page 12 1) Using Internet Explorer, type the IP address of the Konica Minolta machine into the address bar and press Go 2) Click on the Store Address tab at the top of the screen 3) Click on New Registration and then choose FTP from the list 4) Leave the Use Opening Number option selected. * Enter a name for your one touch button. (This is the name of the button that will appear on the machine). * Specify the Index under which your one touch button is to appear on the machine * Enter the IP address or Host Name of the PC running the FTP service * If in PageScope Cabinet/IIS you have set the FTP Root Folder to the actual folder on the PC where you wish the scans to be placed ( PC Root Folder ), the Directory on the machine only needs to have a / (forward slash) typed into the box. The / means root folder. If however you wants the scans to be placed in a folder which is inside the PC Root Folder, lets say called Hotline you would need to put /Hotline * Enter a user name or password that is either configured within PageScope Cabinet, or if you are using IIS, that of a user on the PC. 5) Click OK and then OK again. Your button is now configured. 9

10 SCAN TO SMB 1) Create a shared folder on your C drive as on pages of the Konica Minolta FTP & SMB Setup Guide for Windows. 2) Using Internet Explorer, type the IP address of the Konica Minolta machine into the address bar and press Go 3) Click on the Store Address tab at the top of the screen 4) Click on New Registration and then choose SMB from the list 5) Enter in the Name of the button to appear on the machine and select the Index in which it is to appear under. 6) Type in the IP Address of the computer as the Host Address. You can also use the Computer Name (found under the Properties of My Computer) by putting a tick in the box Please check to enter host name. This must be typed in using upper case. 7) Type in the SHARE NAME of the folder you created in step 1 8) Type in the User Name and Password the customer uses when they log into their computer first thing in the morning. If this does not work, a new user must be set up on the PC just for SMB scanning. 9) Click Apply, OK, and then OK again Your button is now configured. 10

11 C253/C353/C451/C550/C650 with the Fiery IC-409 There are 2 ways of configuring the C253/C353/C451/C550/C650 with the IC-409 attached. Please make sure you check which configuration you have before you commence setup of scanning. Configuration 1 Figure 1 Figure 2 * There will be a short black/beige crossover cable connected from the top LAN connection of the copier (Figure 1), to the COPIER connection on the Fiery (Figure 2). * The LAN cable for the network will be plugged in to the LAN port on the Fiery. The machine will have two IP addresses. One for the Fiery and one for the main body. When browsing the web interface, you need to use the correct IP address for what you want to browse. The IP address of the Main Body can be found by printing a Configuration Page from the Fiery. It cannot be found under the Network Settings on the main body of the machine. At the machine, follow the steps below: 1) Press the Utility/Counter button 2) Press Controller Details on the touch screen 3) Press Menu 4) Press the button next to Print Pages and then the button next to Configuration The machine will then print 2 pages. The IP address of the machine can be found at the end of the second page. 11

12 Scan to With this configuration, the machine will first look to the main body for scan settings. If the main body of the machine and the Fiery both have SMTP settings entered, the machine will send s from the main body. If only the Fiery is configured, the Fiery will send the instead. Scan to HDD/FTP/SMB - these are all handled by the Emperon controller. Please refer to the relevant pages - HDD 16-17, FTP 20 & SMB 21 for details. Scan to through the Emperon controller, please refer to pages Scan to through the Fiery IC-409 please refer to pages for configuration CREATING A ONE TOUCH BUTTON 1) Log in to the web interface as a Public User 2) Click on the Store Address tab 3) Click on New Registration and choose from the next screen. 4) Enter a Name for your button. (This is the name of the button that will appear on the machine. * Choose the Index under which this button will appear * Enter the address of the recipient 5) Click OK and then OK again Your button is now configured. 12

One for the Fiery, one for the main body. When browsing the web interface, you need to use the correct IP address for what you want to browse. All scanning is handled by the main body only. Please refer to pages When connecting via supplied crossover cable-- If the Fiery is assigned an IP from the LAN, which must have vacant addresses above it then the Fiery will assign the Copier Engine with an IP above the one it has been given from the LAN, This is a Psudo address and will not affect the LAN side of the Fiery. eg: Fiery= , Copier Engine= (It is still advisable not to use two IP addresses either side of the one allocated to the Fiery to avoid connectivity issues) From the Copier main Body it will show an IP in the 172.?.?.? range which will be the Copiers true IP address as given by the DHCP function of the Fiery. ALL of the Emperon functions are available via the Psudo IP address 13

14 C220/C280/C360/C452/C552/C652 - Emperon Controller Scan to HDD (BOX) 1. Using your Internet Browser, eg Internet Explorer. Type the IP address of the machine into the address bar and click go or press the enter key on your keyboard. 2. Login as Public User if not automatically logged in as a Public User as shown 3. Select Create user Box 14

15 4. Type a User Box name (can be your name) and click OK 5. If nomore User Box s are to be created then click the appropriate button shown below: 6. If clicking the Return to User Box List then this will take you back to the main screen as shown, from this screen you now need to create an Address Book entry to point to the newly created User Box. See Creating a One Touch Button. 15

16 Creating a One Touch Button 1. Perform Steps 1-2 as above then Select Address Book under the Store Address menu 2. Click New Registration 3. Select User Box and Click OK 16

17 4. Type a name for the Address Book entry then select Search from List and a popup window will open as shown, allowing you to select the required User Box (as created in steps 1-5). Click OK and then click OK to the Address Book Registration completion message. 17

18 5. Click To Login Screen and the click OK to Logout Public User screen. This will Log you out of the machine take you back to the screen shown in step Your User Box and Address Book entries are now complete. You can now select them at the machine. 18

19 Scan to Initial Setup and Configuration 1. Using your Internet Browser, eg Internet Explorer. Type the IP address of the machine into the address bar and click go or press the enter key on your keyboard. 2. Click To Login Screen if the machine has automatically logged you in as a Public User then click OK to the confirmation message. Login as Administrator by selecting Administrator and then click Login as shown, type the Administrator Password of then click OK 3. Select Machine Setting from the System Settings drop down list and click Display 4. Type in a Device Address and Administrator (these need not be valid addresses, but are mandatory), then type information into any other fields if 19

20 required. Click OK and then OK to Confirmation message then click To Main Menu to exit back to main screen. 5. Select Setting from the Network Settings drop down list and click Display 6. Select Setting then select TX (SMTP). Enter your SMTP Server IP Address. You will see that the addresses entered in the previous screen are imported automatically. 20

Click OK then OK to confirmation message then click To Main Screen or if finished click Logout then click Ok to the confirmation message Note: If using Authentication then Both addresses and User ID must be valid, Also if using MS Exchange 2007, TLS will need to be enabled. Alternatively enable a Relay connector (See MS Exchange Settings) 8. The machine is now configured to scan to . For entering recipient Address Book destinations please see Creating a One Touch Button. 21

22 Creating a One Touch Button 1. Using your Internet Browser, eg Internet Explorer. Type the IP address of the machine into the address bar and click go or press the enter key on your keyboard. 2. Login as Public User by selecting Public User and then click Login as shown; 3. Select Address Book under the Store Address menu 22

23 4. Click New Registration 5. Select and Click OK 23

24 6. Type a name for the Address Book entry then type the full address of the recipient. Click OK then OK to the confirmation message. If done click To Login Screen, Otherwise goto step Your Address Book One Touch entry is now completed and can be accessed at the machine. 24

27 5. Select FTP and then click OK 6. Type a Name (Button Name), the IP address of the FTP Server and the Scan folder name. (Root directory is denoted by a / in file path). 7. Set to Anonymous or if using Authentication the user ID and password must be input. 8. Click OK then OK to the confirmation message. If done click To Login Screen, Otherwise goto step Your Address Book One Touch entry is now completed and can be accessed at the machine. 27

31 C220/C280/C360/C452/C552/C652 with the Fiery IC412 Providing the Fiery is connected to the machine by its own short crossover cable and the machine is set to obtain a network address from the IC unit, then E- mail / FTP /SMB setups are the same as Emperon Controller. Fiery to machine setups will be the same as page 22 and When connecting via supplied crossover cable-- If the Fiery is assigned an IP from the LAN, which must have vacant addresses above it then the Fiery will assign the Copier Engine with an IP above the one it has been given from the LAN, This is a Psudo address and will not affect the LAN side of the Fiery. eg: Fiery= , Copier Engine= (It is still advisable not to use two IP addresses either side of the one allocated to the Fiery to avoid connectivity issues) From the Copier main Body it will show an IP in the 172.?.?.? range which will be the Copiers true IP address as given by the DHCP function of the Fiery. ALL of the Emperon functions are available via the Psudo IP address If you wish to configure the Fiery controller to control scan functions then please reference pages (IC409) as it will be the same. 31

32 Bizhub C200 Setup 1. Using your web browser, enter the machine s network address into the address bar and click Go or press Enter. Eg: Type the machine administrator number and click Login 3. Click on the Network tab and then SMTP TX settings 32

33 3. Enter the required settings. If your system uses Authentication then the correct details need to be input as well (if necessary create a new user for the machine on the server) then click Apply then Logout Create One Touch Button via the Web Interface 1. Using your web browser, enter the machine s network address into the address bar and click Go or press Enter. Eg: Click on Fax/Scan you will then be shown the screen below, if you type an Index name into Register Index and click Apply you can name the Tabs shown on the machine. 3. Click on the first available index number eg: #000 33

34 4. When this screen shows select the method of scan required, eg: and click Next 5. Enter the Recipients name and Address and click Apply then OK you will then be returned to the main input screen. 6. You can now close your browser if finished 34

Perform steps 1-4 as per adding addresses but this time select FTP server option. Enter your information as per the example and click Apply then OK. Note / denotes the FTP root directory eg: C:\scan. 2. To scan to a subdirectory do not enter the / but enter the subfolder name. If your network uses usernames and passwords for FTP then that information must be entered. 3. You can now close your browser if finished 35

Note usernames and password are normally required for SMB scan. 2. Directory on Scanned to device (PC or Server) typically, C:\SMB 3. Click Apply and OK 4. 37 Configuring Exchange 2007 and Machine Should only be done by IT administrator(s) or competent personnel (Please Note that this is not a definitive guide and your Exchange system may show different screens, Refer to relevant Microsoft documentation) Using Authentication If Authentication is enabled on exchange 2007 and Relay is not to be used then an account must be set up for the machine and machine must be set to Start TLS see Screenshot also correct details must be input into SMTP Authentication settings on machine. Note: if the machine does not support TLS then Relay must be enabled. Note: TLS may not available on BW models if not supported by firmware 37

38 2. Authentication is enabled on Exchange Server in: Server Configuration/ Hub Transport 3. Client and Default: Exchange Server Authentication = Enabled 38

39 Enabling Relay 1. Start the Exchange Management Console. 2. Browse to Microsoft Exchange > Server Configuration > Hub Transport. 3. Select the Hub Transport server through which you would like to allow another system to relay mail. 4. From the Actions pane, choose New Receive Connector (Figure A). Figure A For this example we have called our Relay Connector Relay enter information relevant to your network. Follow the screenshots as below when done ensure the new connector is Enabled the copier should now be able to . 39

42 Configuring Exchange 2003 Relay 1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager. 2. In the console tree, expand Servers, expand ServerName, expand Protocols, and then expand SMTP From Exchange System Manager open Administrative Groups/<Site Name>/Servers/<Exchange Server Name>/Protocols/SMTP Then right click Default SMTP Virtual Server and select Properties:- 42

43 Select the Access tab and click Relay Then click Add to add an allowed IP address:- 43

44 Add the IP Address of the Copier Device and click OK Click All the OK buttons until you have exited the SMTP Server properties. s can now be sent from the copier through the exchange Server 44
