1 Global Justice Academy Global Justice Calendar Celebrating the launch of the Global Justice Academy by working together to address global justice challenges This year, to mark the inauguration of the Global Justice Academy, a number of centres and institutes and initiatives across the University have placed Global Justice at the centre of their activities to create a year of Global Justice Events in conjunction with the Global Justice Academy. This Global Justice Calendar brings these together. These events carry forward the central mission of the Academy by exploring what global justice means and how justice institutions respond to global challenges across all our themes. The events include public lectures, focused seminars and response events which will be arranged in a pop-up fashion to respond either to emerging global justice crises or, more positively, global justice opportunities, that arise during the year. The first of these is our event on Syria at the end of this month. We are delighted to launch the Academy, related post-graduate programmes, and this special calendar of events with an inaugural lecture by Professor Neil Walker (Regius Professor of Public Law and the Law of Nature and Nations) which offers an over-arching framework for thinking about the connection between the global, law, and justice. Further details of events will be posted on the Global Justice Academy website (globaljusticeacademy.ed.ac.uk) as they become available. Find out more about the speakers and contributors to this year of events by following the links in this calendar:
