General Information OUR HISTORY The Divinity School was founded in 1999 by the leadership team of Christian Education Enterprises (CEE, Inc.). CEE, Inc. has been providing Christian education programs since One of the very early pioneers in online study programs, The Master's Touch Self-study Library was started in The goal was to create a totally Internet delivered learning center providing free theological distance education courses to students around the world. At that time, resources and office facilities were leased from a nearby Seminary. In March of 1999, as a result of the success of the Master's Touch Self-study Library, Master's Divinity School and Master's Graduate School of Divinity were officially structured under the charter of Christian Education Enterprises, Inc. We were the first fully free-standing Internetonly theological school in America to be organized under the title Divinity School. The rapid growth that followed, and the persistent misrepresentation that Master's was a division of the Seminary from which facilities were leased, necessitated that the Divinity School seek other housing and resource arrangements. Therefore, in April of 2001, Master's purchased its own state-of-the-art office complex, and moved to its present location. By 2005, Master's was providing academic programs to students in seventy world areas. In September of 2006, in order to keep pace with the changing nature of theological distance education around the world, the institution was renamed as Master's International School of Divinity 4

General Information (cont.) MISSION AND PURPOSE Our Mission is to develop and provide in-service ministry educational programs to mature, mid-career, and late-career individuals whom God has called into His service as full-time, bi-vocational, or lay servants; to keep such programs on the cutting edge of ministry and technology; and to deliver the programs to the students in a way that does not hinder their capacity to continue the ministry in which they currently serve. Our Purpose is to restore, through practical Biblical education, the servant culture of Christian ministry, by bringing to the God-called individual additional ministry training and degree programs that meet his or her need as a worker in an appointed field of service; and to promote ministry higher education as a tool for more effective service rather than a means of obtaining position or advantage. Doctrinal Creed Master's International School of Divinity is free-standing and not associated with any church group or denomination. We are Christ-centered, Bible-based and unapologetically evangelical. The primary historical influence that has helped to shape Master's comes from the sixteenth century reformation movement which stressed: the proper separation of church and state; congregational autonomy; the true church consisting of the born-again; the voluntary post-conversion baptism of believers; Scripture alone as the final authority in all matters of doctrine; and the right of the church to exercise control over its own educational programs. 5

General Information (cont.) In Particular, the Administration and Faculty Believe in and Affirm: 1. The Divine inspiration of the Canonical Books of the Old and New Testaments as originally given, and preserved throughout the ages as the only infallible, inerrant and sufficient source of theology and doctrine (Ps. 119:9, 89, 105; Matt. 24:35; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Tim. 3:16; Heb. 4:12; 1 Pet. 1:25; 2 Pet. 1:21); 2. The Triune Godhead existing in One Eternal, Transcendent, Omnipotent, personal God, manifested in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Gen.1:1; Ex. 3:14, 34:6; Deut. 6:4, 32:4; 1 Kings 8:27; Neh. 9:6; Ps. 90:2, 103:8, 116:5, 147:5; Isa. 6:3, 40:28, 57:15; Jer. 23:23-24; Mal. 3:6; Matt. 28:19; John 4:24, 14:16; Acts 17:28; 1 Cor. 8:4; 2 Cor. 13:14; Col. 1:17; 1 Tim. 1:17; Heb. 1:2, 12 and 11:3; 2 Pet. 3:9; 1 John 4:10 16); 3. The beginning of the existing space-time universe, including all of its basic systems and organisms as revealed in the six literal days of the creation week, the fall of man and the Noahic flood. This we particularly stress as the historically factual account of origins, and the cause of the current condition of the physical earth as well as mankind upon it from creation to the present: (Genesis chapters 1-10; John 1:1-4; and the whole of Scriptural affirmation); 4. The perfect, sinless humanity and absolute full deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, indissolubly united in one divine/human Person since His unique incarnation by miraculous virgin conception and birth (Isa. 53:6; Matt. 28:18 20; Luke 1:35; John 1:1,14,18; Acts 2:22, 24 32; Rom. 1:3-4, 8:34; 2 Cor. 5:18-19; Eph. 1:19 22; Col. 3:4; Tit. 2:13; Heb. 1:8, 4:15, 7:25; 1 Pet. 1:18, 2:22 and 24, 3:18; 1 John 2:1-2); 5. The substitutionary and redemptive sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ for the sin of the world, through His literal physical death, burial, and bodily resurrection followed by His bodily ascension into Heaven (Isa. 53:6; Matt. 28:18 20; Luke 1:35; John 1:1,14,18; Acts 2:22, 24 32; Rom. 1:3-4, 8:34; 2 Cor. 5:18-19; Eph. 1:19 22; Col. 3:4; Tit. 2:13; Heb. 1:8, 4:15, 7:25; 1 Pet. 1:18, 2:22 and 24, 3:18; 1 John 2:1-2); 6

General Information (cont.) 6. Personal salvation from the eternal penalty of sin, provided exclusively by the grace of God on the basis of the atoning death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, to be received only through confession of, and individual faith in, His Person and redemptive work on the cross, to be followed by baptism and conversion from a life of sin to a life characterized by the empowering grace of the Holy Spirit, giving evidence in loving service and adherence to the principles and practices of the Christian Faith as set forth in the Holy Scriptures (John 10:17-18; Acts 4:12; 1 Tim. 1:15, 2:5-6; Tit. 2:11-12; Heb. 2:9; 1 Pet. 3:18; Matt. 1:21; John 3:14 17, 6:44; Rom. 3:10 12, 19, 20, 23; Eph. 2:1 3, 8-9; Ps. 51:3-4; Prov. 28:13; Isa. 6:1 5, 55:6-7; Matt. 3:2 and 8, 4:17; Luke 13:3, 15:18, 18:13, 19:8; John 16:8 11; Acts 11:18; Rom. 2:4, 10:9-10; 2 Cor. 7:9-10; 2 Tim. 2:25; Ps. 4:3; John 17:17; Acts 15:8-9; Rom. 6:19 and 22, 12:1-2; 2 Cor. 7:1; Gal. 2:20, 6:14; Eph. 5:26; Col. 3:3, 1 Thess. 4:3, 5:23; 2 Thess. 2:13; Heb. 12:14; 1 Pet. 1:2 and 15-16; 2 Pet. 3:18; 1 John 5:6); 7. The future personal, bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth to judge and establish His eternal kingdom and to consummate and fulfill all His purposes, the works of creation, and redemption, with eternal reward for believers and eternal punishment for the unsaved (1 Cor. 15:3 8 and 19 23; Phil. 3:20-21; 1 Thess. 4:14 17; 1 John 3:2; Matt. 24:14, 36-51, 25:1-13; Mark 13:10, 32 37; Luke 21:27-28; John 14:1 3; Acts 1:11; 1 Cor. 15:58; Col. 3:1-4; 1 Thess. 4:13-5:11; Tit. 2:12-13; Heb. 9:28; James 5:7-8; 1 John 2:28-3:3; Rev. 1:7, 22:12-13; Isa.65:17, 66:22; Dan.12:2; Matt.25:42, 46; Mark 9:42-48; John 5:28-29, 14:1-3; Eph. 1:3-14; Phil. 3:20-21; 2 Thess.1:8-9; 2 Pet.3:13; Rev.14:9-11, 20:10-15, 21:1-22:7 ). REGISTRATION PROGRESS AND GRADING Registration is the step immediately following Application. At the time of Registration, tuition and fees are due in full unless the student has agreed to Register using one of the Institution's approved payment plans, in which case, the initial payment required by the selected plan is due. The registrant may then commence study, and is considered an official student at the Institution (though some form of academic probation may apply). The initial Registration period is for five years. Nearly all students are able to complete their program during this time (or sooner). In the event that the student has not completed the program at the end of five years, a total program evaluation will be provided to determine the most suitable program completion plan based upon requirements current at that time. This policy assures the student that unforeseen circumstances need not prevent him or her from graduating. Student progress is measured without frequent direct reminders to the student. This is an adult open learning program. Student average age is forty-four, and most students are actively involved in the daily responsibilities of Christian ministry and community service. The open learning model of education provides significant advantages to students, and permits study to be undertaken at the discretion of the student. Nevertheless, the Dean of Students in cooperation with the Registrar, tracks student progress and provides proactive and on-call student assistance. 7

General Information (cont.) Each course must be completed with a passing grade of not less than a "C" (2.0 ) for undergraduate programs, and a "B" (3.0) for graduate level programs. If a grade falls below the required minimum, students are not automatically failed, but are assisted in knowing exactly what is required for successful re-submission. The goal is always to assure the highest quality education possible, and students may be confident that we actively work with them toward this goal. GRADUATION INFORMATION After all academic and financial requirements are validated by the office of the Registrar, the student will be graduated. The student will have the option of graduating off-campus (in abstention). In which case, the degree will be mailed to the graduate. The student will also have the option of attending the on-campus graduation exercises held annually in Evansville, Indiana with graduates coming from across the United States and many other nations. Graduation information is sent to all prospective graduates in January of each year. Annual graduation exercises are extraordinary events, and students are encouraged to consider adding this unique component to their educational experience. 8

Methods of Study HOW DO YOU COMPLETE THE DISTANCE EDUCATION PROGRAMS AT MASTER'S? Because most individuals have studied at traditional on-campus colleges and universities, the manner in which distance education courses are completed may be something of a mystery. What follows is a generic overview of how an MISD program is completed when using one or more of our distance learning options. In fact, many of our students actually use two or even three of these options during the process of earning their degree! Switching between options can often make it possible to graduate more quickly! Which option is best? Answer: The one that is best for you! DISTANCE LEARNING OPTION # 1 The Standard Directed Study Method using the Internet and to send and receive lessons and information. This option is a model of innovation and simplicity. It's simple and straightforward, requiring only access to the Internet and basic computer skills. Program orientation, a personalized Internet landing site, study guides, and student services which are based online, take the worry out of starting something new. Throughout the program, students have direct access to the Divinity School staff and faculty via , and telephone. Completed course assignments are sent directly to the school through simple attachments. In addition, students have full access to Master's online digital library, and a full-service online bookstore. Adequate study resources are always only a click away! DISTANCE LEARNING OPTION #2 Online Live Seminars that allow you to attend a real-time learning event without ever leaving home. If you have a busy schedule, and limited time for travel, then online live seminar courses may be the perfect option. Online live seminars can be used to substitute a regular distance education directed study course, or in some cases, may even be the method used for an entire degree program. Online live seminars are commonly held in two day events. Pre-seminar assignments required, ending with an open-book exam on the final day of the seminar. In many cases, the online seminar format makes it possible to complete a three (3) credit course in six (6) weeks. A Typical Online live seminar course is 10 hours, but is scheduled over a twoday period. If you possess basic computer skills and have access to the Internet, then Online Seminars may be just right for you! DISTANCE LEARNING OPTION # 3 On-site Seminars that you can elect to attend with other students. Throughout the year, Master's conducts Accelerated Learning Seminars in Evansville, Indiana and at other strategic locations throughout the United States. These seminars may be used to substitute a regular course, or in some cases, may be the method for most of the degree program. Typically, on-site seminars are held in two to four day events. Pre-seminar assignments required, ending with an open-book exam on the final day of the seminar. In many cases, this seminar format makes it possible to complete a three (3) credit course in five to six weeks. Another benefit is that class size for most seminars is between This allows students and professors close interaction. In addition, you will have an opportunity to meet other students, and form friendships that will last a lifetime! 9

Institutional Credibility About Institutional Credibility Distance learning is the fastest growing edge of adult higher education, and the most widely preferred method of study for individuals serving in Christian ministry. Most schools are now offering degree programs through distance education. However, with the popularity and acceptance of distance education, there are also abuses by degree mills and substandard programs promoting inexpensive degrees for very little work (such as reading a few popular books and writing brief reports). Therefore, many individuals and ministry leaders are skeptical of distance education schools that are not accredited. This is understandable. However, there are high quality unaccredited schools that are of exceptionally good quality. These institutions may offer advantages that accredited schools cannot. High quality unaccredited schools are usually unaccredited for one of the following reasons: 1) They do not accept government funding and therefore do not need to be accredited; 2) They are currently working toward accreditation; 3) They wish to keep their tuition as low as possible so that they can serve a wider group of students; 4) They have objections to some of the accreditation restrictions. Of course, degree mills and substandard schools often quote the same reasons as a ruse to cover unethical and even illegal money making schemes. On the other hand, high quality unaccredited schools which exercise academic parity with accredited schools of a similar kind are often recognized by other institutions. If the school is so recognized, then prospective students, current students, graduates, and ministry leaders have good reason to be accepting and respectful of credits and degrees earned at these institutions. Master's is such a school. Is Master's Properly Recognized by its Home State of Indiana and the U.S. Federal Government? Yes, Master's International School of Divinity, founded in 1999, is domiciled in the State of Indiana, and operates as an exempt religious institution of higher learning in accordance with exclusion IC Master's is a sub-corporation of Christian Education Enterprises, Inc. which is approved by the U.S. Federal Government as a Not-for-Profit 501 (c) (3) Corporation. 10

Grading Faculty and Course Instructors A Special Note About Our Faculty: One of the most powerful benefits of our program is that we are able to bring to the student the teaching and academic oversight of highly accomplished practitioners and scholars in various fields of study. Most of the individuals below do not actually serve full-time with MISD. They serve as administrators, faculty, ministers, practitioners, authors, writers, and in other areas of service and leadership either in private ministry or with other institutions. Their contribution to MISD is an important part of their commitment to Christian ministry. Yet, because they are also involved in the larger field of Christian service, the student who studies under their direction receives the added benefit of learning from a highly accomplished and multi-dimensional leader. This wonderful benefit would not be possible in a traditional system of higher education. 15

Admission Information Application is usually made following a preliminary evaluation process. Each person who applies is given an opportunity for an individual evaluation consultation. By this process we determine qualifications for acceptance into a program of study. We have worked out a simple method of preliminary evaluation. We are an "Open Admission" Divinity School. This means that we reserve the right to admit any qualified student. It also means that we do not discriminate against students because of their academic background. As an International School of Divinity, we encourage applications from prospective students who live outside of the United States. Please note: 1. Because all of our programs are in English, prospective students must demonstrate acceptable English language skills prior to enrollment. 2. Prospective students must have adequate study resources (access to , the internet, and postal support). 3. Since we bring the Divinity School to the student, we have no need to participate in the U.S. I-20 student visa program. Entrance requirements are specific for each program. For example: To be accepted into the Master of Christian Studies program you must have a bachelor's degree. Click any of the following links to review entrance requirements: Undergraduate Degrees, Graduate Degrees. Please note: Application to an undergraduate program by persons not having previously earned college transfer credits will involve a careful review in order to assure placement in the most appropriate program. A high school diploma, GED or validation of comparable qualification will be required. POLICY ON ACCEPTING CREDITS & DEGREES FROM OTHER SCHOOLS CREDITS AND DEGREES EARNED AT FCPC & CPCA CERTIFIED INSTITUTIONS, ABHE AFFILIATED INSTITUTIONS AND INSTITUTIONS ACCREDITED BY A USDE APPROVED ACCREDITOR: All requests for the recognition of credits and degrees earned at institutions as noted above will be carefully reviewed. Providing the degree or credits are acceptably relevant to the program into which application is being made, it is a practical certainty that credits and degrees earned will be accepted by Master's International School of Divinity. However, even in the case of these schools, Master's reserves the right to decline acceptance. CREDITS AND DEGREES EARNED AT INSTITUTIONS OTHER THAN THOSE NOTED ABOVE, BUT HAVING A REPUTATION FOR FOLLOWING GENERALLY ACCEPTED ACADEMIC PRACTICE: All requests for the recognition of credits and degrees earned at other institutions will be carefully reviewed. Providing the course/credit and degree requirements meet appropriate and generally recognized academic guidelines, the degree or credits are acceptably relevant to the program into which application is being made, and were earned through an institution verified by MISD to have met these requirements, there is no practical reason why such credits and degrees would not be accepted by Master's International School of Divinity. However, Master's reserves the right to decline such acceptance. CREDITS AND DEGREES RECEIVED FROM INSTITUTIONS OTHER THAN THOSE LISTED ABOVE: All requests for recognition of credits and degrees received from institutions other than those above will also be respectfully reviewed. In some cases, while full credit or degree transfer is not allowed, it may be possible to grant limited recognition. When this option is permitted, it provides an opportunity for the applicant to receive partial credit for work done at a less academically rigorous institution, and use such credit to reduce some of the requirements for a degree at Master's. In no case will Master's recognize credits or degrees received through organizations that grant such credentials on the basis of life-experience only. Master's maintains an extensive list of acceptable, partially acceptable and unacceptable institutions. 19
