Expansion into other accreditation standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 17020, etc.) to grow ASCLD/LAB's market presence and provide accreditation options for disciplines/forensic units/agencies that do not conduct analytical scientific testing (e.g., crime scene investigations, latent print analysis, ten prints, foot and tire print examinations, firearms examinations, handwriting analysis, digital media, and anthropology) 2. Improve the turnaround time of accreditation applications. With the recent Attorney General's decision concerning accreditation policies to advance forensic science, there may be a significant influx of accreditation applications and to remain competitive application processing times should be reasonable and within market standards.
