1 1. Determine the occupancy, type of construction, and floor area (square footage) Commercial Fee estimate The Building department will provide the actual fees at the time the permit is issued. 2. Determine the valuation using the valuation data from the Building Valuation Data Chart published in the Building Safety Journal of the International Code Council. This valuation data will be revised June 1 of each year as the data is revised in the Building Safety Journal. See chart below for the current year. The square footage of the building is multiplied by the Cost per square foot of the appropriate occupancy and type of construction. Multiply this value by Example: 100% New building to be occupied 80% Core and shell building 20% Tenant finish of Core and shell 10% Vanilla Box 10% Tenant Finish of a Vanilla Box 9,000 Square foot Office building, Type VB construction 9,000 X X 100% = $1,113, This is your estimated valuation from which fee estimates can be obtained.

4 4. Determine your plan check fee. This is 65% of your building permit fee. (Note: 1/2 of the plan check fee should be paid at plan submittal) Section of the Parker Administration Code Example: A $4, Building permit fee would give a $3, plan check fee. 5. Determine your use tax. This is 4% of 1/2 your valuation. Town of Parker Example: A $1,113, Valuation would give $22, in use tax. 6. Determine your excise fee. This is paid for a new building to be immediately occupied or a new tenant finish. This is $.34 a square foot of area. Apartments - $3, per unit Townhomes and Condominiums - $ 3, per unit. Example: A 9,000 square foot office building would have a $3, excise fee. 7. Determine your Cherry Creek fee. This is paid for a new building. This is $.04 a square foot of the building footprint (roof area). Cherry Creek Basin Authority Example: A 9,000 square foot building with 9,000 square feet of roof area would have a $ Cherry Creek fee. 8. Determine your E470 fee. This is paid if you are within 1.5 miles of either side of E470. There is a range from $.03-$1.06 per square foot of building area depending on the exact build location. E-470 Public Highway Authority Contact the Building Department for this fee if you are within 1.5 miles of E Determine your total Estimated Fees Example: 9,000 Square foot Office Building Building Fee = $4, Plan check Fee= $3, Use Tax= $22, Excise Fee= $3, Total Parker Fees= $33, Cherry Creek Fee = $ E470 Fee if applicable. Planning Reviews $85.00 Make Check Payable to: Town of Parker or Pay online line though etrakit $33,863.34

5 The above Fees would be for the General Building Permit only. There will also be a charge of $85.00 for Planning and Zoning that covers a initial and final plot review, elevation and landscaping review of the approved plans to verify what was agreed upon is accurately shown in the plans. There may also be other fees based on prior conditions of approval. Contact Planning and Zoning The Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical contractors will need to pull separate permits for their portion of the work. Only the building permit fee will be charged based on the valuation that each contractor provides to cover inspections for the different disciplines. As a contractor, determine your fee for your discipline. The fee is based on the valuation that the contractor provides for their portion of the building construction. Mechanical and Plumbing permit fees would be calculated using Table No. 3.1 of the Parker administration code. Electrical permit fees would be calculated using Table No. 3.2 of the Parker administration code.(see next page) Example: Mechanical valuation $150,000. Mechanical permit fee = $1, Plumbing valuation $75,000.
