2 The Role Overview of the team The Regional Services WA team is the service delivery arm of the Regulatory Services Group and administers the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 through a variety of prevention, assurance and enforcement activities including: Investigations Audits Inspections and Education Prevention is the primary focus through targeted education and audit programs. The range of response and intervention following a safety incident includes investigation and justice outcomes through enforcement activity. Overview of the role As a WHS (Work Health Safety) Inspector you will be required to assist the Director and Assistant Directors, Regional Services WA, to deliver high quality services in a regional service delivery environment in a timely manner. You will prepare high standard written work including reports, correspondence, briefings and submissions. To be considered a suitable candidate for this role, you will be experienced and/or qualified in conducting Work Health and Safety investigations, inspections, audits and presentations. Qualifications Desirable: Formal qualifications in OHS and/or OHS related Investigations or related disciplines are desirable. E.g. OHS Diploma/Certificate IV, Diploma of Government (Workplace Inspection), OHS Lead Auditor, Training and Assessment, or similar qualifications. Essential: The successful applicant will be required to obtain or update a Certificate IV or Diploma in Government (Investigations) and/or a Certificate IV or Diploma in Government (Workplace Inspection) within 12 months from the date of appointment. Duty statement 1. Lead and undertake Work Health and Safety audits against recognised criteria and produce appropriate reports. 2. Lead and undertake workplace inspections across a diverse range of industries and identify potential breaches of Commonwealth Work Health and Safety legislation and produce appropriate reports. 3. Lead and undertake work health and safety audits investigations as required using sound investigative methodology and produce appropriate reports. 4. Prepare high standard written work including inspection reports, audit reports, investigation reports, correspondence, briefings and submissions. 2

Communicate effectively (including public speaking) and maintain productive working relationships, both across the organisation and with employers, private sector, federal and state government agencies and other stakeholders. 6. Mentor less experienced regional service team members. 7. Manage and coordinate a program, activity, and/or projects to achieve organisational and operational goals. 8. Participate in an after hours on-call roster including weekends and nights (after expiry of an assessment period and where operational necessity dictates). 9. Actively develop and maintain working relationships across the organisation and with employers and stakeholders. 10. Obtain and maintain a security clearance to the Negative Vetting Level Represent Comcare at internal and external meetings and forums. 12. Participate in corporate learning and development activities. 13. Promote workplace safety, equity and diversity and environment practices in the workplace. 14. Demonstrate and model safe attitudes, values and behaviours in order to uphold your health and safety duties. 15. 4 The Selection Process Comcare uses a competitive merit process. Interviews will be conducted on Friday 08 June Eligibility and specific conditions of employment 1. Australian citizenship 2. Obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance 3. Character clearance (police records check) 4. Health assessment 5. Six months probationary period 6. Participate in an after hours on-call roster including weekends and nights 7. Hold and maintain a full motor vehicle driver s licence for at least the classification of motor car 8.
