1 Director, Commercial Development Medtech Company BRIEF COMPANY PROFILE Our client is a global, research-driven medtech company that has pioneered their area of business. The company develops, sells and distributes medical products and services that make life easier for people with very personal and private medical conditions. They have a leading position on the global market of medical equipment, mainly within specialized markets with few, large providers, while being represented by own sales companies in the most significant markets and through distributors in the remaining markets. The company s global headquarter is located within Greater Copenhagen. POSITION PROFILE Position title: Reporting line: Reporting to the position: Location: Traveling: Director, Commercial Development. Vice President, Commercial Excellence. 4 Commercial Managers. Greater Copenhagen, Denmark. Yes. The objective of the Commercial Development team is to raise the game and create breakthroughs in the growth markets of the company, typically through developing and executing best-in-class commercial projects. The team will act as partner to the affiliates/countries, focusing on building commercial opportunities and empowering the people to solve commercial challenges with the ultimate objective of ensuring revenue generation.
2 Concretely, the Commercial Development team is responsible for driving 4-6 commercial projects and the Annual Leadership Camp. Additionally, the team is responsible for running the yearly ABP process, investment processes, postproject follow-up, Capital Market Days, ExM presentations and quarterly BoD reporting. Responsibilities & tasks: Commercial Projects Leading 4-6 commercial projects. Leading the Annual Chronic Care Leadership Camp. Leading Capital Market Days. Annual Business Plan (ABP) Process Running yearly process. Ensuring ABP material works. Consolidating key metrics. Investment Process Managing investment pipeline. Ensuring investment material works. Leadership Providing clear guidance and leadership to the team. Developing and cultivating the team to consistently deliver high performance. Ensuring that competencies, skills and motivation are developed and tuned for excellence. Post Project Follow-up Quarterly BoD Reporting Criteria of success: Successful execution of prioritized commercial projects that deliver targeted revenue acceleration. Successful execution of the ABP process. Successful management of the investment pipeline. Successful development and execution of revenue accelerating commercial development processes in HQ and in affiliates.
3 Share best-practices among countries and secure continuous improvement and commercial excellence in HQ and affiliates. Ensuring seamless and successful cooperation with key stakeholders in HQ and the business units. Developing an inspirational and high performance culture in the Commercial Development team and across the wider Commercial Excellence organization.
4 CANDIDATE PROFILE The ideal candidate for this position should match the following criteria: Educational background: Language: Ideal experience and competencies: Personal competencies: Commercial degree at M.Sc./MBA level or similar. Fluent in English orally and in writing ideally combined with one more language. 4+ years of experience from management consulting or corporate development role. Solid project leadership skills. Strong experience in developing and implementing commercial development and excellence processes. Preferably people management experience and demonstrated ability to create results through others. Thrives on solving complex business problems. Experience from commercially driven work environments and display of solid business acumen. Super user of Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint). Analytical Navigates well within complexity and divides problems into relevant parts, while sensitively integrating the analytical output into a given context. Differentiates between key areas and irrelevant and less important areas. Understand trends, their implications and opportunities in the external environment and gathers information from multiple sources hereunder particularly consumers etc. Assesses information, identifies opportunities and threats and develop appropriate response strategies. Stakeholder management Exerts great personal impact at all stakeholder levels. Is pragmatic and able to identify, establish and maintain relations with stakeholders at all levels internally as well as externally and make people feel at ease. Achieves
