The center works with persons who have medical, psychological, cognitive or social problems impeding function or threatening independent living. The goal of the assessment is to identify and treat corrective problems and to locate and coordinate community resources to optimize the patient s and family s living situation. The Centers staff consists of Geriatric physicians and Psychologists, Case Managers, a Geriatric nurse practitioner, and a Patient Care Associate. Medical Director: Sidney T. All the physicians are board certified and fellowship trained in pain management. Pain is managed in a variety of ways using the most conservative approaches first. Treatment may include medications, trigger point injections, epideroscopy, etc. There is an affiliated research laboratory in Albany and Providence.
