2 Invitation Dear President, The Portuguese Federation of Sportive Fishing has the honour of inviting the national teams of your country to take part in the Youth World Freshwater Championship, which will be held in Portugal from the 02 nd to 07 th August 2016 The Championship will take place in Coruche (U23 and U14) and Santa Justa (U18), where there are excellent conditions for the practice of this type of sport. We are looking forward to your attendance and participation. 3 1. Introduction The Sorraia River, is the venue chosen to host the Youth World Freshwater Championship. The two venues, Coruche and Santa Justa, are located in the city council of Coruche, district of Santarém. The U23 and U14 Championship will take place in Coruche. Sorraia River in Coruche Width: ± 50 meters (sector D ±80 meters) Deep: 1,75 to 2,00 meters Clear water and slow stream Bottom and margins in sand The main fish specimens present in the river are: Barbel, Bogas, Carp and Mullet.

4 The U18 Championship will take place in Santa Justa Sorraia River in Santa Justa Width: ± 50 meters Deep: 2,00 to 2,50 meters Clear water and slow stream Bottom and margins in sand The main fish specimens present in the river are: Barbel, Bogas, Carp, Sun Perche, Carassius and Mullet.
