6 Vision of Development A location independent, anyplace accessible and intelligent environment shall be created to enable seamless creation and offering of services and content. This will result in emergence of an efficient network and information system infrastructure, advanced mobile communication systems and embedded systems making use of networks. These enable location and time independent service usage. A multifunctional, top level network infrastructure that takes advantage of intelligent terminals and enables creation of user centric applications can be built as a result of this development work. 7 Programme Objectives to promote the leading position of the Finnish telecommunications industry in technologies of wireless systems and broadband packet switched networks, and also in the technology sectors critical for the current and future business to generate new business opportunities for the markets of wireless and broadband networks, terminals, and software for achieving an internationally leading position to promote leading positions of Finnish enterprises as innovators and developers of applications, services, and contents based on the mobile and broadband technologies to expand and diversify the business and service activities utilizing telecommunications technologies.
