Section 1 Introduction This document provides a conceptual overview of the Unisys Choreographer as a cloud provider, the Unisys Enterprise Broker Service as cloud broker, and a high-level overview of how these two solutions can be integrated to achieve a robust, yet flexible, cloud configuration. Note: Choreographer was previously known as Unisys Secure Private Cloud. Using this guide, you can integrate a fully implemented Choreographer solution as a standard cloud provider for the Enterprise Broker Service. This guide includes all of the installation and configuration procedures required to accomplish this integration. As you read this guide, you are directed to perform procedures in the Choreographer Administration and Operations Guide ( ) or refer to that document for additional information. The Administration and Operations Guide is available from the Unisys Product Support website Choreographer Documentation Libraries page, as follows: Ensure that you have the Administration and Operations Guide before proceeding. As directed, refer to that document for additional information Documentation Updates This document contains all the information that was available at the time of publication. Changes identified after release of this document are included in problem list entry (PLE) To obtain a copy of the PLE, contact your service representative or access the current PLE from the product support website: Note: If you are not logged into the product support site, you will be asked to do so

Introduction 1.2. Audience and Required Knowledge This document is intended for users who want to utilize Choreographer as a cloud provider for the Enterprise Broker Service cloud broker. It includes instructions for administrators (of Choreographer and of the Enterprise Broker Service) to set up an integrated Choreographer and Enterprise Broker Service environment. It also includes instructions on how to use the Enterprise Broker Service console for managing resources hosted in the cloud environment. Based on your role (such as administrator or operator), and the privileges assigned to your role, you should be familiar with the following: The Enterprise Broker Service console and how to use it to perform administrative and nonadministrative tasks The Choreographer portal and how to use it to perform various onboarding and maintenance functions, including the creation of new tenants, new cloud shared blueprints, and new tenant defined blueprints 1.3. Understanding the Choreographer Solution Cloud computing is an IT delivery method that enables a datacenter to supply scalable, elastic, and automated IT resources to its organization as services. The advantage of cloud computing is that it can simplify operations, reduce costs, increase automation, and support nearly instantaneous commissioning. The Choreographer solution directs and optimizes key IT processes, enabling you to achieve business requirements in real time. The single point of access is the Choreographer portal, which provides best of class identity and access management, to enable complete resource lifecycle management. Automation speeds up business-driven applications from inception to deployment, enabling your enterprise to respond quickly to changes in the market as well as to your customer needs. Capabilities A private cloud offers all the advantages of cloud computing from your own datacenter. Choreographer is a prepackaged private cloud solution that delivers self-commissioned and automated IT capabilities as services to users on an immediate and as-needed basis. These capabilities include Service-oriented infrastructure Cloud users use a web-based portal to commission and manage their own infrastructure resources. Utility By sharing infrastructure resources among all cloud users as appropriate, the use of the resources is optimized. Also, software enables the datacenter to monitor and analyze the utilization of resources by the different cloud users. Ubiquity

Introduction Private cloud resources can be managed as a service wherever the cloud user has Internet or intranet access. IT Infrastructure and Application Services Choreographer provides a range of IT infrastructure and application services through the cloud. These services include Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) IaaS enables you to define the level of infrastructure service provided to internal departments. Choreographer allows the IT infrastructure to be requested in slices, using server cycles, storage capacity, and network bandwidth on an as-needed basis. Choreographer supports both the Windows and Linux operating systems. Platform as a Service (PaaS) PaaS gives you the ability to identify and move your standard middleware to the cloud. These middleware applications become part of your service catalog. Choreographer supports the environments that run on the Windows or Linux operating systems; for example, a Java stack running on Windows that includes Tomcat, Apache, and MySQL. Existing applications or software With Choreographer, you can move your existing applications into the cloud. There are few restrictions on what type of application can be supported. Datacenter integration Choreographer provides a framework that enables it to integrate with the enterprise s datacenter. For example, adapters that connect to IT automation software enable resource requests to be integrated with the datacenter s own management processes, including incident, configuration, asset, and change management processes. Likewise, through integration with LDAP and Active Directory, Choreographer adapts to the datacenter s security model. This facilitates single sign-on and enables cloud resources to be accessed in the same manner as other datacenter resources. Security Choreographer integrates with existing firewalls and other security mechanisms to identify users, grant or rescind access, protect data, and isolate networks. To further minimize security vulnerabilities, the components of Choreographer are hardened. Choreographer also integrates with the Unisys Stealth technology to allow Choreographer cloud administrators to isolate specific resources that require compliance with privacy regulations. Stealth encrypts all data transmitted among the resources that have these requirements

Introduction 1.4. Basic Structure of the Choreographer Environment The basic structure of the Choreographer environment consists of Cloud instances The entire environment can be partitioned into multiple cloud instances. Each instance is an independent cloud. All cloud instances are managed through the Choreographer portal. An enterprise can use cloud instances to - Support multiple geographical locations. - Segment administrative responsibilities. Tenants A tenant is defined as an individual entity with whom you the Unisys client has a contract to provide virtual or physical machine usage from your cloud datacenter. These tenants might be your customers, or they might be your subsidiaries or departments that should be treated as separate entities. Depending on your needs, the Unisys service representative can implement a singletenant or a multi-tenant environment, and the Choreographer cloud administrator can add new tenants as needed. Folders In Choreographer, projects are associated with tenants. Choreographer enables each tenant to have a hierarchy of folders to organize its projects. This folder hierarchy helps the tenant create a structure for its projects and resources that reflects the structure of its organization, for example, or any other structure. Choreographer also enables each folder to have an administrator. The folder administrator can - See and control all of the folders, projects, and resources throughout that folder s tree. - Manage which users are allowed access to those folders, projects, and resources. In this way, each organization can work independently. Projects A tenant can have one or more projects that it can organize in folders. A project further subdivides the tenant organization. Projects are based on the needs of a tenant environment. For example, a tenant can have one project for each department or each subdepartment, or it could configure projects based on user responsibilities in the organization. The administrator of the cloud or cloud instance creates the projects while adding a new tenant and can also alter the projects if the tenant later wants changes. Blueprints A blueprint contains the information that is required to create a virtual machine or physical server from a predefined image. When you build a machine from a blueprint,

Introduction you need to identify the project to which the machine belongs. Blueprints are linked to the created machine throughout the machine s life. Blueprints can be defined at the cloud level or at the tenant level. The Choreographer cloud administrator can create and edit cloud shared blueprints that can be shared across a cloud instance, and tenant administrators can create and edit tenant defined blueprints that can be configured specifically for a tenant. The number of resources available to end users is managed using contracts. Each blueprint specifies the number of entitled resources that users can commission. Contracts are specified at the tenant level and can be further refined at the project level. However the maximum number of resources per tenant is set in the cloud base blueprint (resource type) and cannot be changed Understanding the Enterprise Broker Service The Enterprise Broker Service is a hybrid cloud broker, which enables users to utilize the services provided by multiple public and private cloud providers, including Choreographer. It can be used to deploy and manage enterprise-class applications in public, private, and hybrid clouds. The Enterprise Broker Service offers the following features: Authentication and authorization mechanisms of the Enterprise Broker Service provide access to the relevant features in each cloud environment. Automation tools such as auto-provisioning, auto-scaling, and automated backups help improve an organization s service levels. Whenever a new resource is provisioned across the cloud, the cost for the resource can be tracked and the spending of the resource can be controlled. User activity across clouds can be tracked by using reports or by integrating with monitoring and management systems. Application deployment architectures can be defined quickly and intuitively in a cloud. The Enterprise Broker Service can then handle deployment in other clouds. Scaling policies can be created around the data to be measured (such as transaction rates). The policies can then be used in regions that make the most sense for an application. Applications can be automated from a single Management Console. In case of a system failure, the built-in recovery feature can be used to restore data from the last backup. To reduce risk, cloud-independent backups are provided. Snapshots can be captured as needed and can then be placed in supported third-party cloud storage services (for cloud providers that enable this function through the Enterprise Broker Service). Snapshots can also be encrypted to further increase the security. The cloud orchestration feature helps leverage the strengths of various leading cloud providers. For more information, see the Unisys Management Platform document, which describes the Management Console and the Management Agent

Introduction 1.6. Understanding Choreographer and Enterprise Broker Service Integration The integration between Choreographer and the Enterprise Broker Service enables a user to use the Management Console to launch and manage the lifecycle of servers that are hosted in the Choreographer environment. (In the Choreographer environment, these Enterprise Broker Service servers are referred to as virtual machines or resources. ) Similarly, the Enterprise Broker Service user can set up an integrated environment with other cloud providers and manage servers (hosted in various cloud provider environments) using a single interface. The following diagram depicts an Enterprise Broker Service user s resources hosted on cloud provider servers, such as Amazon Web Services, Verizon Terremark Cloud Express, and Choreographer

Introduction Figure 1 1. Example of Resources in the Enterprise Broker Service Environment After the integration between the Enterprise Broker Service and Choreographer is complete (as described in the following sections of this document), users can perform the following tasks from the Enterprise Broker Service Management Console: View machine images (in Choreographer documentation, machine images are referred to as blueprints ). Launch servers (in Choreographer documentation, this is referred to as commissioning a virtual machine ). View servers (in Choreographer documentation, servers are referred to as resources or virtual machines )

Introduction Start, stop, and reboot servers. View additional information about servers, including the account, budget code, and region. Terminate servers (in Choreographer documentation, this is referred to as decommissioning a virtual machine ). For more information about Enterprise Broker Service operations, see Appendix A, Performing Enterprise Broker Service Operations

Section 2 Preparing the Connector Files and Adding a New Cloud Provider Perform the procedures in this section to prepare the Choreographer connector files for the Enterprise Broker Service and installing Choreographer as a new cloud provider in the Enterprise Broker Service environment Preparing the Connector Files for the Enterprise Broker Service Using vsphere Client connected to the management server, open a console to the jump box management VM and do the following: 1. Log in to the jump box management VM using administrator credentials. 2. From a PowerShell window, enter the following command:.\prepare-enstratius.ps1 3. When prompted, select the portal instance (SPC) XML file (that you saved in the C:\ProgramData\Unisys\SPC-Automation\xml folder). 4. If you are prompted for Windows credentials, enter the Windows administrator credentials for the Choreographer portal. After you execute the command, the following folder on the jump box management VM is populated with information required for adding Choreographer as a cloud provider in the Enterprise Broker Service environment: C:\Unisys\Enstratius 5. Transfer the Enstratius folder from C:\Unisys to the all Enterprise Broker Service server nodes that host dispatcher, monitor, and worker services. Use the file transfer and security practices appropriate for your organization. These resources in the Enstratius folder are required by Enterprise Broker Service personnel when integrating the Enterprise Broker Service with Choreographer. Note: In the following procedures, the examples assume that you copied the C:\Unisys\Enstratius folder to /tmp/enstratius on all Enterprise Broker Service server nodes

Preparing the Connector Files and Adding a New Cloud Provider 2.2. Adding a New Cloud Provider to the Enterprise Broker Service Environment In the previous procedure, you transferred the Enstratius folder from C:\Unisys to all Enterprise Broker Service server nodes that host dispatcher, monitor, and worker services. In this procedure, you use these files to add Choreographer as a new cloud provider to the Enterprise Broker Service using the various files in the Enstratius folder. Do the following: 1. Do the following to back up the provisioning database: a. Access the Enterprise Broker Service server node where the provisioning database is hosted. b. In the terminal window, enter the following command: mysqldump -uprovisioning -p provisioning > provisioningbackup.sql c. When you are prompted for a password, enter the password for the provisioning database user. (The password can be found in the install.credentials file from the installation.) 2. In the terminal window, log into the MySQL provisioning database. The following are the typical MySQL commands used on the Enterprise Broker Service (Enstratius) server that hosts the database server: mysql u root p console SET PASSWORD=PASSWORD( U*spc2341 ) 3. Run the Add-Cloud.sql script in the MySQL database by entering the following command: \. <Full path>/add-cloud.sql Be sure to specify the full path to the Add-Cloud.sql file; for example, enter \. /tmp/enstratius/add-cloud.sql (This MySQL script contains SQL statements required for the integration with the Enterprise Broker Service and Choreographer.) 4. Exit the MySQL provisioning database. 5. In the terminal window, enter the following command to stop the dispatcher service: /etc/init.d/enstratus-dispatcher stop 6. In the terminal window, enter the following command to start the dispatcher service: /etc/init.d/enstratus-dispatcher start 7. Copy the unisys_logo.png file to the appropriate folder containing cloud provider icons on the Enterprise Broker Service server node for MySQL, in the /services/ console/webapps/root/clouds folder by entering the following command: cp /tmp/enstratius/unisys_logo.png /services/console/webapps/root/clouds/ This file is referenced by the Add Cloud.sql file. The image appears on the Enterprise Broker Service Management Console when Choreographer is used as a cloud provider

Preparing the Connector Files and Adding a New Cloud Provider 8. Copy the dasein-cloud-unisysspc-x-jar-with-dependencies.jar file to all Enterprise Broker Service server nodes that host services that directly communicate with Choreographer (where x is the build number). For the Enterprise Broker Service server nodes that host dispatcher, monitor, and worker services, copy the file to each of the following specific locations: Service Type Path Dispatcher Monitor Worker /services/dispatcher/webapps/root/web-inf/lib /services/monitor/lib /services/worker/lib For example, execute the following commands: cp/tmp/enstratius/dasein-cloud-unisysspc-jar-with-dependencies.jar /services/dispatcher/webapps/root/web-inf/lib cp/tmp/enstratius/dasein-cloud-unisysspc-jar-with-dependencies.jar /services/dispatcher/webapps/root/web-inf/lib cp/tmp/enstratius/dasein-cloud-unisysspc-jar-with-dependencies.jar /services/worker/lib 9. If the default properties values are not valid for the Enterprise Broker Service environment, edit the daesin-cloud-unisysspc.properties file. 10. Copy the the dasein-cloud-unisysspc.properties file to all Enterprise Broker Service server nodes (that host services that directly communicate with Choreographer). 11. Install the userfacing-public.cer in the Java keystore on Enterprise Broker Service server nodes on which dasein-cloud-unisyspc.jar is installed. (This certificate file contains the public key of the Choreographer portal management VM.) For example, enter the following: cd /usr/lib/jvm/java openjdk x86_64/bin./keytool -import -keystore../jre/lib/security /cacerts -alias spcmib-portal.spcmib.local -file/tmp/enstratius /userfacing-public.cer Note: Choreographer uses two-way SSL to encrypt communication between the Choreographer portal and any services. 12. Stop the Enstratus services in the following sequence by entering the following commands: a. service enstratus-monitor down b. service enstratus-subscriber down c. service enstratus-publisher down d. service enstratus-assign down

Preparing the Connector Files and Adding a New Cloud Provider e. service enstratus-pinger down f. service enstratus-api down g. service enstratus-console down h. service enstratus-dispatcher down i. service enstratus-km down 13.
