It is the largest of 16 Hospital and Health Services in the Queensland Public Health system. It covers an area of 4157 square kilometres and serves a population approaching 900,000 people. MNHHS is unique in its composition in that two of its five hospitals are tertiary facilities that provide statewide super specialty services such as Heart and Lung Transplantation, Burns, and Positron Emission Tomography (PET). Metro North HHS has a range of subacute, post acute, community based health services to support patient discharge and hospital avoidance as well as a number of residential facilities, Oral Health Services and a fully integrated Mental Health Service including both community and hospital based care. About the Role Context This role reports directly to the Facility Services Director, Community Indigenous and Subacute Services (CISS), MNHHS. The Equipment Loan Coordinator will have direct and indirect relationships with CISS Executive and Clinical Leaders CISS Facility Leaders Page 1 of 7

2 Purpose The Equipment Loan Coordinator (ELC) is responsible for coordinating the Clinical Equipment Loan Services to provide cost efficient, equitable and timely access to centralised equipment to enable safe and quality patient care. The ELC will also be an active member of CISS Incident Management Team. Key Accountabilities Proactively manage the distribution of loan of equipment from Central Equipment Stores (CES) and the return of loan equipment, utilising a data management system. Coordinate the cleaning, basic functional testing and servicing of CES equipment in conjunction with Manufacturers, Biomedical Technology Services, MNHHS Policy and Procedures and CES data base requirements. Assist with the annual CISS Asset stocktake. Comply with relevant MNHHS procedures, National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards and Infection Control Guidelines, and maintain up to date CES Procedures and Work Unit Guidelines to support local implementation of safe work practices with quality improvements. Coordinate effective and timely data input and provide reports on the use of equipment. Assist Clinical Staff with advice regarding the appropriate use of CES equipment. Provide information and advice to CISS Asset Committee regarding CES equipment and consumables and participate in evaluation of new equipment as required. Liaise with Clinical experts in the CISS Safety & Quality Unit and across the Facilities/Services to achieve best practice and outcomes for patient care Testing and tagging of all Equipment after specific training. Safety and Quality Relevant to the position, participate in the ongoing education, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of safety and quality initiatives relevant to The National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EQuIP). Mandatory qualifications/professional registration/other requirements Demonstrated ability and proficiency in the use of contemporary computerised systems, including word processing applications, spreadsheet applications, power point presentations and accurate, high level keyboard skills. As CISS sites are scattered across MNHHS (13 sites) it is essential the successful applicant have a current drivers licence.
