I am so blessed to be married to her, a beautiful women not only outwardly but also inwardly where true beauty lies!! I can t help but smile with joy as I watch her teach, nurture and care for Elliana. She is such a wonderful mother and wife! Hard worker and yet always finds ways to have fun! He is great at encouraging me when I feel down and is an awesome daddy to Elliana. Philippians 4:6-8 Our Home and Community Children: Elliana, born in 2012 We bought our first home in a quite small rural community of about 2,000 people. We live in a two-story home with three bedrooms, a finished attic and a nice backyard with a garden. We have wonderful neighbors and interact with them regularly. Some randomly stop in to give Elliana ice cream on warm summer days and others invite us over to go swimming at their in-ground pool. Our community is a very friendly and safe place with several festivals each year. We enjoy going to local festivals, playgrounds with Elliana, coffee shops and farmers markets. Elliana enjoys taking walks with mommy and daddy and going down town to see horses (her favorite animal) or a local parade. Our Home! Growing up, my dad was outnumbered and was determined to teach his girls to loves sports so by the age of four, my younger sister could name the entire Cleveland Indian s lineup. And yes, one of my favorite things to do is to watch sports with my family. Whether it is the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers or the Ohio State Buckeyes football team, I love watching them all! My parents have been happily married for more than 35 years. My older sister is married and has four children ranging in age from two to six years old. Living four blocks apart from grandparents and cousins, we see each other all the time. We see them at least once a week and there is never a dull moment when all the cousins get together. Elliana loves going to Mimi s (Grandma) house each week and going on walks to the grocery store and seeing her cousins at story time. Family is a very important part of my life. Growing up, I always enjoyed going on family vacations each and every year, creating memories that last a lifetime. ABOUT KENNY: I am the oldest of four children. I have a brother and two sisters. My oldest sister is married and lives on a farm about 10 minutes from our house. They are expecting their first child in the fall. My brother and younger sister still live at home which is about 30 minutes away. My parents have been married for 34 years and grew up Amish but left the Amish before I was born. I grew up on a 62-acre farm and learned at a very young age the importance of working hard. I loved traveling with my dad, helping him on the farm caring for lots of different animals. We see my family at least once a week and love to get together for cookouts, holidays and helping each other out with projects around the house or farm. More About Us We met at a nonprofit café where we both had volunteered. Janelle knew that Kenny was the one right from the beginning. It took Kenny a little bit of time but he also came to feel the same way. We dated for about a year, engaged for five months, and had a big wedding of about 350 people. Shortly after we were married, we moved to South Carolina where we attended a small Bible school for two years. We think most people thought we were crazy living in dorm rooms for the first two years of marriage. But we feel like it was one of the best things we could have done for our relationship. During those two years, we grew so much closer and stronger as a couple. We loved living in South Carolina and always enjoy visiting for vacations or to see friends. As a couple we really love to play volleyball, go hiking and experience new cultures and cuisines. One of our favorite things to do on our anniversary is find a new ethnic restaurant we haven t tried before. We both love Mediterranean, Mexican and Indian foods!

4 What Makes Us Unique What makes us unique is our love of travel. We believe that to be versed and educated with a global perspective and experience different cultures is very rich, and we plan to raise our children in the same manner. Together we have been involved with mission/volunteer opportunities in the United States and also overseas, which is where our love for travel began. We have traveled throughout our lifetime to Uganda, Kenya, Ireland, Jamaica, Egypt, Philippines, Nicaragua and the Bahamas. We have friends who live in Lativa, India, Poland, Peru, Bosnia and Canada to name a few and we would love to visit them if the opportunity allows. We currently sponsor a boy who lives in Uganda, and we stay in contact with him through letters and pictures. We believe it is important to invest in family and to take time each year for vacations, making memories together and building strong bonds. Some of our favorite vacation locations include Panama City, Orlando and Charleston, South Carolina. Some of the destinations that are still on their bucket list include Niagara Falls, the Grand Canyon, and Alaska. We have both been involved in numerous community programs ranging from helping to start an inner city children s program at a community center, helping with afterschool children s programs and volunteering at a local café. We currently have a young adults bible study that meets in our house each week and are involved with our local church. Janelle is a full-time mom and a part-time vision therapist! When she is at work, Elliana loves to go to Mimi s house two days a week. Janelle loves her job as she works with patients who are Autistic, ADD/ADHD or have other visual system problems. Her job is to help them understand what is causing the issues and then help them to overcome them and excel in school and life as much as possible. Janelle is driven by first-hand experience as she has dyslexia and has been able to recognize the symptoms and how to properly overcome situations in which she gets disoriented. Many times her patients are labeled as having learning disabilities but really only need someone to believe in them and help them understand their world and how they perceive it. Kenny is more of the spontaneous, energetic and outgoing one who loves anything athletic. He grew up playing baseball his entire life and has also done everything from wake boarding, repelling and even bare-foot skiing. He has a stable job which he enjoys which allows him to work from home at times and he currently watches Elliana several days out of the week as Janelle works a half day. He also really enjoys photography and just graduated from the New York Institute of Photography and has taught local photography classes in the community and has displayed his work in galleries, local shops, museums and libraries. 6 Dear Birth Parent(s), Thank you so much for considering adoption for your child. We do not know you but are praying for you that God will give you peace, comfort, wisdom and discernment as you journey through this difficult decision making process. By you considering this difficult decision for your child, it shows us how deeply you love your child! We will never fully understand how difficult this decision must be for you but praise you for wanting to do what you think is best for your child. Life is precious and meant to be valued and we know you understand this by considering adoption for your child. Our only daughter, Elliana, is so excited to have a brother or sister, she is only three but is super compassionate toward those who are younger then her and already acts as a little motherly figure. We know she will make a great big sister and love sharing in many wonderful memories with her future brother or sister. We have both been blessed by growing up in loving and supportive families and want to continue this heritage. Our vision is to empower and equip our children to be the best they can be. We believe the best environment to nurture this is by leading by example and by providing a strong Christ-centered marriage where they feel safe and supported. We are committed to each other and have been happily married for six years. Our vision and purpose in life is rooted completely in our love relationship with Jesus Christ. We can love each other, our children and those around us even those who hurt us only because He first loved us and empowers us to love as He loves! We are far from perfect but it is His love which drives us to love deeply those around us and to empower them to be all they can be. Although we are both hard working individuals, we value family above work and believe that we only get one chance to raise our children and don t want to work to the point where we are not able to spend and invest valuable time in the upbringing of our own children. We also love to incorporate our children in as much of our daily lives as we can. We believe this is a great opportunity for teaching/ mentoring them what we know and allowing them to discover their own passions and desires. We are very dedicated and committed in raising this child no matter the cost or sacrifices we may need to make. Our daughter was born weighing 2 lbs. 7 oz. and Janelle had massive blood clots, all of which led us to stay in the hospital for nearly four months. This has given us a very unique experience in seeing how each of us reacts under extreme stress and the commitment we have for one another. Through that experience it has made us a much stronger couple and shown us how the difficulties in life are also opportunities that can bring you closer then you ever were before. We would be blessed and honored to be given the opportunity to raise your child as our own and have you be a part of our forever family. This child will always know how much you love them and we would like to send you pictures and letters to let you know what is going on in their life.
