DESCRIPTION OF THE TRAINING COURSE This particular course aims at transmitting health care personnel, teacher trainers, career officers, educational guides and counselors, principals/managers of schools/organizations offering adult health education, other (Paid or voluntary) management staff in the institution/organization, members of students/teachers councils in adult education, etc., skills and tools to develop their work in a more effective way, so that they can acquire new perspectives in order to improve their relationship with the patients and, therefore, to enrich the healing process.
5 OBJECTIVES GENERAL AIM To acquire competencies to improve the quality of the relationship between patient and health care personnel. To recognise the importance and the benefits of an effective communication in the healing process. SPECIFIC AIMS Raising awareness on promoting effective communication. Analyzing the communication components: verbal and no-verbal language and emotions. Providing participants tools to improve their social habilities. Developing strategies and tools to being able to develop an active and empathic listening. Raising awareness of body language and knowing how to communicate through it. Considering emotional intelligence as an essential aspect in the patienthealth care personnel relationship. Recognising psychological main characteristics of patients and the importance of motivation and self-steem to enrich the healing process. Identifying patients experiences to recognise their needs. Knowing current successful practices regarding the healing process and patients and health care personnel relationship.
6 METHODOLOGY The methodology used will be mainly practical and active: all the theoretical contents will be strengthened through the development of dynamics in which every single content transmitted will be put in practice. The content blocks are distributed in the following way: Theoretical exposition and conceptual framework. Dynamic and practical exercise. Sharing the personal learning. Self-reflection on the application of learning in their own workplace. Using an active methodology implies considering that the student is an active agent in its learning and assumes an entrepreneur and energetic role in their own learning. In this way, all the tools provided during the course will be easily put in practice and transmitted when they are in their daily work. Our participants will take active part in all the activities developed as well as in the exchange of knowledge and experiences. At the same time, students will also develop their own capacity to increase and strengthen their own constructive and critical thinking. In short, the main aims Magenta pursues to reach when using this approach and methodology are the following: - The student will be the main protagonist in his/her learning. - The student gets responsible for his/her own learning, developing his/her skills of search, selection, analysis and evaluation of the information, assuming, in this way, a more active role in the building of their own knowledge. - The student participates in activities that allow them to exchange experiencies and opinions with his/her partners.
7 - Students are involved in a self- reflection process about what he or she does and on what results he/she gets, proposing concrete actions to improve themselves. - Students get in touch with their own environment, being able to get involved in a professional and social way, through the development of activities as working on projects, studying cases and offering solutions to the main problems arisen. Follow-up There will be a virtual group in order to start communication before the training course. This network will be also available after the course and will be monitored by Magenta. Information and methods will be shared and exchanged trough this network and the debate will be encouraged after the project in order to keep on networking At the middle of the course, there will be a mid- evaluation in order to know how the course is going on in case it were necessary to redirect the contents. Apart from this, it should be fostered the idea of continuous assessment all along the course, not only previous the start and once finished. Follow-up meetings and further projects would be appreciated by the organizing company and could be organized - depending on the interest arising during the course. The organization compromises itself to encourage the participation of the students attending on the course even after the same has finished by proposing activities during the course to be developed from their own countries in order to put in practice the knowledge acquired during the course and Magenta will offer feedback by means of the social nets or by e- mail in order to improve their final works. At the same time, it is important to point out that Magenta will answer questions by from the participants for 3 months following on the training. To finish with, just pointing out that, at the end of the course, Magenta will remind participants they will have to fill the final Evaluation form and send it to the National Agency.
