1 PASO DEL NORTE CHILDREN S DEVELOPMENT CENTER JOB DESCRIPTION SPECIFIC POSITION DESCRIPTION Provides supervised school age care and summer camp for children five years of age and older, to include but not limited to making adaptations for children with disabilities, after school program, field trips and swimming. Performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties to support school age activities including enrollment and assisting Director/Asst. Director in all areas of school age care.. Supervise recreational aides and community volunteers. Designated person in charge when Director and Asst. Director or Senior Lead Teacher are not in the building. Major areas of responsibility. Plans and implements daily curriculum, lesson plans, and sports leagues in a creative and inclusive manner for children with disabilities at designated work sites. Promotes an atmosphere of respect and dignity for co workers, clients, and collateral parties. Provides guidance and redirection care and security within a clean, relaxed inclusive atmosphere to ensure safety, physical care and emotional well being of the children. Maintain ongoing documentation and record keeping, in accordance with TX DFPS, CCS, NAEYC, TRS and PDNCDC procedures. Follows proper storage, inventory and handling of snacks and equipment. Complies with NAEYC accreditation, standards and criteria. Supervisory responsibilities including number and type of employees supervised. Supervise recreational aides and community volunteers. Supervise recreational activities to include but not limited to after school program, field trips, swimming, and sports leagues. Job qualifications: education, license, skill, experience, ability. At least 18 years of age. Minimum of High School diploma/ged, Associates degree preferred in child development, sports and recreation, social or health-related fields. Must have experience working with school age children and adolescents. CPR, First Aid, Food Handlers, TB Test and physical exam required. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. MUST be a good swimmer. Spanish/English fluency preferred. REQUIREMENTS APPLICABLE TO ALL STAFF Paso del Norte Children s Development Center needs reliable employees who can work effectively with coworkers, clients, and collateral parties. Therefore, all performance appraisals rate employees working relationships and attendance. The EPRC sets high standards of personal conduct and reliability and employees will be rated on their ability to meet these standards.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND STANDARDS # Function Standard 1 Complies with PDNCDC Philosophies, Policies and Procedures, and Texas Dept. of Protective and Regulatory Minimum Standards. 2 Complies with work safety rules, policies and procedures. 3 Promotes an atmosphere of respect and dignity for co workers, clients, and collateral parties. 4 Prepare and implement daily activity plans to develop safe and healthy habits, physical skills, self esteem, creative expression, social skills, cognitive skills, and communication skills of the children assigned, with attention to individualized programs for children with special needs. 5 Maintain a safe, healthy learning environment, both indoors outdoors, during field trips, and swimming. 6 Maintain professional training requirements (CPR, first aid, food handlers, TB test, 20 hours of training.) 7 8 Maintain confidentiality of children and family information. Report suspected child abuse and neglect as required by law. 9 Share information with coworkers and parents regarding the well being of their children. 10 Maintain ongoing documentation and record keeping, in accordance with EPRC procedures, children s growth and development, daily health checks, medication administration, children portfolios and folders and incident reports. 11 Participate as a member of a team and contribute to group efforts. 12 Prepare daily, weekly and monthly child care program reports and billings. Document children s absences and or incidents, supplies and equipment. 13 Prepares monthly and quarterly Community Services reports. Documents children s attendance, incidents, and financial activities as needed for recreational activities. 14 Operate and promote a variety of organized recreational activities. 15 Perform other duties, projects & responsibilities as assigned.
