False certification claims may prohibit your ability to renew your certification or re-take an NCSF Board exam. Maintaining Your Certification Status To uphold the standards set forth by the NCSF Board for Certification, all NCSF- CPT s are required to participate in the NCSF continuing education program to maintain a certified status. Over a period of two (2) years, beginning on your date of certification, the NCSF Certified Personal Trainer must fulfill a ten continuing education unit (CEU) requirement. CEU s are granted based upon the criteria established by the NCSF Board for Certification. CEU s that are attained in excess of the required amount cannot be used for the next CEU term. Failure to meet the CEU requirement will result in the forfeiture of your certified status as deemed by the NCSF Board for Certification. Specific CEU reporting policies and guidelines will be sent to each NCSF certified trainer upon gaining certification and/or recertification. For a complete description of the CEU Policies and Procedures please refer to the continuing education section of the NCSF web site.
