3 INNOPAC Database of all material owned or licensed by the Library Use it to: determine if we own a book, get the book s call number, find out where it is shelved determine if we have a subscription to a journal electronic access to both journals and books will be indicated with a link to the material you need 16 January

7 Scenario #1: Determine if We Have a Book from the Library s main webpage, go to INNOPAC, the Library s Catalog. use the dropdown menu to do an Author or a Title search for the item you need. Your syllabus will give you the Author & Title of the books; write the call # on your syllabus because you may be needing to get this book often during the semester. 16 January

9 Scenario #2: How to Determine if We Have Access to a Journal Article From the Library s homepage click on INNOPAC in the box that says Keyword click on the down arrow and select Journal Title type in the box the name of the JOURNAL you need the record you retrieve will indicate if we have access to print, electronic or both versions of the journal 16 January

10 Scenario #2: How to Determine if We Have Access to a Journal Article If you receive a screen indicating ownership or access, it will tell you if we have the journal in print or electronic formats. If the Library provides electronic access to the journal, click on the link provided. There may be multiple links with differing years of coverage. In most cases, you will be taken to the table of contents of the issue you need and given a link or icon to click to get to the full-text of the article. Always choose a link to the PDF version of the article when one is available. If the journal is available only in print it will be shelved on the 5th floor of the Library in alphabetical order by title. 16 January

12 Scenario #2: How to Determine if We Have Access to a Journal Article When an Innopac search returns no results, return to the Library s homepage click on E-JOURNALS & E-BOOKS A TO Z type in the box the full title of the JOURNAL you need keywords from the journal title may work but will give you multiple results abbreviations will not work unless they are the official title of the journal if we have electronic access to the journal you will be given one or more links to click 16 January
