Fleet & Family Support Center is pleased to offer a wide range of resources and workshops for service members and their families. This quarterly publication lists our upcoming workshops, which we also offer by special request to commands and family groups. In addition, we can also offer some services in one-on-one consultation, particularly for challenging relocation issues. We hope every interaction you have with us exceeds your expectations, and we always welcome your feedback. Ombudsman Appreciation September is the 45th anniversary of the Navy's Ombudsman Program. Ombudsmen are volunteer spouses who serve as communication links, information and referral resources, and key supporters for command family members. They spend countless hours helping families and are some of the most dedicated individuals that I know. Please take time to thank your Ombudsman today for their dedication to you and your family. 8 OMBUDSMAN & FAMILY READINESS GROUP (FRG) TRAINING Registration is required for all of the Ombudsman training listed below. Please contact to register. Ombudsman Basic Training (OBT) OBT is a standardized and mandatory multi-day training for all Ombudsmen, in accordance with OPNAVINST G CH-2. Command leadership and their spouses are also welcome to attend all or part of the training. Pre-registration is required. You are eligible for this program if single or married active duty, or an eligible family member. This program is for you if you can access services at a military medical treatment facility, whether you are expecting your first child, or your family includes a child under the age of four. NPSHVs also provide special support to active duty momsto-be on getting ready for maternity leave and parenthood while active duty. Please call for more information.
