No problem, you jump into your hacker chatroom to bounce some follow-up ideas off the others Devs. In almost no time, you whip together a patch that specifically targets the customers you think would benefit the most and jump into the rollout chatroom to take center-stage and implement the patch live on our site. Soon, volunteers jump in offering to test and try to break not only your patches, but all of the patches currently rolling out to our customers. A few of the test volunteers notice a fatal error in the Javascript experiment tracking, so someone pushes a quick fix, you merge it in, and it all rolls out. You look up at the graphs expectantly and notice they re looking good. 3 Software Developer, you will rotate through three different teams over a 12-month period. You will collaborate in teams, as well as work independently, and will also be responsible for your own personal development. Our strategy is agile and we work in small Scrum teams of 5-7. We do several rollouts every day, are datadriven and do extensive A/B testing. As a Graduate Software Developer, you will learn and be responsible for the development, performance, and scaling of our public website as well as internal systems, which includes using: Perl (5.14), DBI, Mason, Moose, Sereal, Plack, nginx, Javascript, MySQL, Memcached, Redis, Hadoop, Elasticsearch, git, and CentOS Linux. B.skilled By rotating through small start-up like teams and working on a variety of projects, you ll gain maximum exposure to all areas of our business. You ll increase your personal development and gain new efficiencies, all while working in close collaboration with Designers, Business Analysts, Product Owners and other business stakeholders on one of the world s largest Perl websites. You ll learn how we implement changes quickly don t be surprised to see your code live in our systems within hours of
