2 In , two $6,000 Aguilar scholarships will be awarded. GO-MAP Scholarships GO-MAP administers programs providing funding for students whose individual experiences and/or academic interests will bring diversity to scholarly perspectives and endeavors, and to the academic community. The GO-MAP awards are based on merit, financial need and diversity, and require a departmental nomination by the student s graduate program coordinator. No individual student applications are accepted. Awards vary in amount and historically have covered half to full tuition. All awards are contingent upon the student s admission to the UW graduate school. GO-MAP encourages the nomination of students who have achieved academic merit despite significant social, economic or educational challenges, such as students who are the first generation to attend college or graduate school, or students whose educational training has not exposed them to a wide array of resources. Students do not apply directly to GO-MAP for diversity fellowships and financial assistance; instead, applicants must be nominated by their graduate program to our office. Eligible admitted and current students are nominated by the Foster MBA program each year in the spring quarter. UW Foster merit-based and need-based scholarships The Michael G. Foster School of Business provides scholarships to more than half of the students in the MBA program. There are two forms of scholarships available: merit-based and need-based. Merit-based scholarships are awarded to both domestic and international students. First-year awards are based on competitive factors you provide in the application for admission, including your GMAT score, GPA and admission interview. No additional scholarship application is required. Second-year merit scholarships are awarded based on GPA during your first year in the MBA program, involvement in and contribution to student clubs, and activities and demonstration of professionalism. Second-year students must apply for merit scholarships using an online application available during winter quarter and due in mid-april. Need-based scholarships are awarded to first-year and second-year students based on financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA). Both incoming and current students must complete the online scholarship application to be considered for need-based funds. Priority is given to students who file the FAFSA by the February 28th deadline and who also file the online scholarship form and submit all required supplemental materials by the April deadline.
