The front of the assignment book includes the school rules. The tardy bell rings at 8:05 AM and the dismissal bell rings at 2:52 PM. If you have questions about arrival, dismissal, or bus notes, please call the SRES office at To ensure the safety of students, we ask that you follow our parking and pickup procedures. AFTER SCHOOL PLANS Please send a note to your child s teacher(s) explaining after school routines. Please list the bus number your child will ride, or if they will be a pick up, and who will be picking them up. Please send a note each time their routine will change so your child gets to their appropriate destination. Calls can be made to the office at to change a student s after school plans. Calls to the office should not be done daily, as it causes confusion for the child and the staff. Calls should be made to the office PRIOR TO 2:00 PM to ensure notification before dismissal time.

3 Grade 4-12 Archery Practice Archery Practice will be each Monday night in the SRES gym. Grades 4-6 meet from 5:00-6:15 PM Grade 7-12 meet from 6:30-8:00 PM PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAYS WEATHER CHANGES/ JACKETS & COATS As we start to get into colder weather, please make sure your student is dressed appropriately for these cooler days. Jackets, sweatshirts, gloves, and hats are recommended as students will continue to have outside recess, if temperatures remain 30 degrees or higher. The dates listed below will be two-hour delay days for the school year: November 18 January 20 February 17 April 7 Bus service will remain the same, with your child being picked up exactly two hours later than normal. 4 PTO Cookie Dough Fundraiser Pick-Up Information Cookie dough delivery date is on Wednesday, November 18. Orders must be picked up on that day between 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM. We do not have the room to store items that need to be refrigerated. PTO uses proceeds from the fundraiser for school projects and classroom field trips. We will be using the circle drive as a drive thru process, similar to our daily student pick-up process. If you are arriving between 3:10-6:00 pm, please pull into the circle drive and we will meet you at your car. Please be prepared to tell us the student name you used to sell the cookie dough! If you will be picking your student up that day, please fill out this form. We will have your cookie dough order ready for pickup. If you arrive before 2:45, you can walk up to the porch and get your order as well. Please call the SRES office at with any questions. SRES TRULY APPRECIATES YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!

5 PTO FUNDRAISER A SUCCESS!!! The PTO Cookie Dough Fundraiser was a huge success again this year! Students sold over 1,500 tubs of cookie dough! Thank you to everyone for their help with the fundraiser and for supporting SRES!! Top Sellers received an Amazon gift card. Congratulations to Branch Redick, Claire Samples, Callie Comer, Katie Thomas, Lillian Perry, Ethan Kirk, Layton Wall, Addison Seabolt, Matthew Wood and Lane Rayburn. A BIG thank you to everyone who helped make our fundraiser a success!

6 3rd Grade works together in table groups to model what a computer does. A computer has an input, then processes the information, and then has an output. TO imitate this, students could only do the job they were assigned, and only one person at the table could talk. With group cooperation, acting like a computer, they all succeed in finishing a silly Mad Libs story. 5th Grade creating Input/Output Machines to introduce Vex IQ kits and starting to explore robotics.

7 It is almost time to start getting out the new winter coats, hats and gloves. If your student has outgrown last year s winter attire and you need some assistance, contact Mrs. Woods. The Franklin County United Way is helping SRES students with new winter coats. I will just need the student size. It s almost time for Thanksgiving! Did you know that on top of all of the delicious food we eat, taking time to think about gratitude is actually good for your health? Recent research by Dr. Robert Emmons from the University of California found that those who expressed gratitude on a regular basis reported fewer symptoms of physical illness as well as reduced stress and depression. Let s make every day a day for giving thanks! As COVID 19 cases in the area continue to increase, more and more students are learning from home for short periods of time. The American Psychological Association has some great resources for parents on helping students to deal with having to be quarantined. You can access those resources here.

Balloons pose a hazard when transporting your child/children on the school bus. They obstruct the driver s view and are a distraction. We want to ensure your child/children s safety. If a student does receive a balloon, the child will need to be picked up from school at the end of the day. They will not be permitted to ride the bus home.
