27 we explored the case study site

96 Pre-announcement of the Summer School 2015 Design in Urbanism The Big Reset on Neighbourhood Design Istanbul The second edition of the European summer school will proceed with the ongoing debate on the topic of neighbourhood design. After the highly successful start in Amsterdam last year, the new edition will take place in Istanbul. The ten-day European Intensive Programme consists of inspiring lectures, intensive workshops and critical debates. The challenging programme particularly engages the role of urban planners and designers in building coherent urban fabrics and the tools required for creating attractive and productive neighbourhoods. During the summer school students work in international teams on developing fresh approaches and new variations for these inclusive neighbourhoods. Subject of design are various existing urban districts on the eve of evolving towards more spatially and socially sustainable neighbourhoods.
