1 Laddering At Sheridan, there are many ways to reach the next rung on the academic ladder. Many of our two year diploma programs can be extended into a three year diploma. There are several opportunities to take the next step to a Sheridan degree program as well. In many cases, these laddering opportunities are also available to students transferring from other college programs, so these are also included. Here is a list of our laddered programs. With Sheridan s laddered Pathways options, there is no need to start all over at the bottom advanced credentials are within your reach! Please note that laddering options may include certain admission requirements and in some cases the completion of bridging programs or courses. Please consult the program information pages for more detailed information. Sheridan Laddering Opportunities Your Pathway to Success! All other listings refer to specific Sheridan programs) 2 Year Ontario College Diploma Advertising & Marketing Communications Architectural Technician Business Accounting or any 2 year Accounting program at an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology Advanced Diploma Advertising & Marketing Communications Management Animation Advanced Diploma as of 2008 Architectural Technology Business Administration Accounting (Regular) Any 3 year Accounting program at an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology Bachelor of Animation Apply to Semester 5 with a minimum GPA of 2.4, completion of a 3- course bridging program in the spring semester and acceptance of a portfolio. Administration (Accounting) and Technology, in an Accounting program, with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA will receive a block transfer credit as noted below into this degree: Three year Accounting Advanced Diploma to a 19 course credit 1
2 Business General or any 2 year General Business program at an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology Advanced Diploma Any 3 year Business Administration - (General Business) program at an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology* to complete 21 courses requirements. Two year Accounting receive up to a 12 course need to complete 28 courses to fulfill degree requirements. who have completed courses at the undergraduate baccalaureate level from an accredited university or college can apply for entry to the Administration (Accounting) degree program, with advanced standing granted on a course by course basis. who have completed two or more years of a CEGEP degree level program may apply for admission into the Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) program and receive advanced standing according to Sheridan policy Administration (Human Resources Management) Beginning Fall 2015, graduates from an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA in the following programs will receive a block transfer 2

Beginning Fall 2015, for either of the above degree programs, applicants who have completed two or more years of a CEGEP degree level program may apply for admission into the Bachelor of Business Administration programs and receive advanced standing according to Sheridan policy. 12

Bachelor of Applied Information Sciences (Information Systems Security): Into Year 2 from 2 year CST diploma with term online bridging semester. Into Year 3 from a 3 year CST diploma with bridging semester. Bachelor of Applied Computer Science (Mobile Computing): Beginning in Fall 2015 (with one bridge course having been completed in Winter 2015) - Graduates who have successfully completed the 2 year Ontario College Diploma in any Computer Systems 14
15 Advanced Diploma Technician program delivered by Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology (MTCU 50505) will be eligible to apply to enter the 2nd year after having completed one bridging course. Successful applicants will have graduated with a 3.0 (i.e., B or 70%) or better. Beginning in Fall 2016 (with one bridge course having been completed in Winter 2016) - Graduates who have completed the 3 year Ontario College Advanced Diploma in any Computer Systems Technology program delivered by Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology (MTCU 60505) will be eligible to apply for entry into the 3rd year with a GPA of 3.0 (i.e., B) or better. Two bridging courses will need to be completed before semester five and two more completed before semester seven. Applicants who have successfully completed their first year of a related baccalaureate program at an accredited postsecondary institution with a GPA of 2.5 (i.e., C+ or 65%) or better. Advanced standing will be assessed on an individual basis. Closely related courses and a gap analysis will 15
16 Early Childhood Education Electronics Engineering Technician Environmental Technician Advanced Diploma Electronics Engineering Technology (Regular) Chemical Engineering Technology or Chemical Engineering Technology - Environmental: be completed as needed using a method of analysis similar to that done for the diploma programs. For example, students who have finished year 1 of a Computer Science or Software Engineering undergraduate degree at the university level would fall into this category. Applicants who have successfully completed two years of a related baccalaureate program at an accredited postsecondary institution with a GPA of 2.5 (i.e., C+) or better. Advanced standing will be assessed course by course, on and individual basis. Closely related courses and a gap analysis similar to that used for the advanced diploma program will be conducted. For example, students who have finished two years of a Computer Science of Software Engineering undergraduate degree at the degree level would fall into this category. Bachelor of Early Childhood Leadership: ECE 2 year diploma graduates from any Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology will need to meet a minimum of a 2.5 GPA admission requirement and complete a bridging semester with a GPA of 2.5 to enter year 3 16
17 Electromechanical Technician Advanced Diploma requires additional courses which can be taken in the semester between graduation from the Environmental Technician program and the fifth semester of the Chemical engineering technology program and also concurrently with fifth and sixth semesters if schedules permit and during the non- teaching term between fifth and sixth semesters Electromechanical Technology Mechanical Engineering Technician Design & Drafting Mechanical Engineering Technician Fitness & Lifestyle Management* Internet Communications Technology Mechanical Engineering Technology Design & Drafting (Regular) Mechanical Engineering Technology (Regular) Music Theatre Performance Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences (Exercise Science & Health Promotion): Minimum B average in diploma program + a bridging course required for advanced standing. Bachelor of Applied Information Sciences (Information Systems Security): Into Year 3 from a 3 year ICT diploma with bridging semester. Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance Degree Completion : Sheridan s three- year Music Theatre Performance Advanced Diploma, with a minimum final GPA of 3.0, in 2006 or after. 17
18 Photography: Various qualifying 2 year Photography diplomas* Telecommunications Technician* Advanced Diploma Telecommunications Technology* Applicants who received Sheridan s three- year Music Theatre Performance Advanced Diploma prior to 2006 may apply for advanced standing and will be considered on a case by- case basis. Applicants for advanced standing from other colleges and universities will also be considered on a case by- case basis. Bachelor of Photography via a specialized Bridging. Completion of an Ontario College Diploma in: Digital Photography and Imaging (MTCU Code 51830) or Photography (MTCU Code 51831) Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Photography (MTCU Code 71831) The individual must have completed the program no earlier than 2005 and graduated with a GPA of 2.4 or better. There is no portfolio requirement for applicants to the Bachelor of Photography- Bridge.
