NEVER put your hands or clothes into the appliance for any reason. 1) Pre-Installa ons Necessary To Be Completed By The User Before calling the qualified technical service for installa on of your Çöpmak garbage disposer there are prepara ons that need to be done on your side. These prepara ons to be made allow your authorized service to install and make the disposer opera onal in shortest me possible. Things to be done for enabling the installa on of garbage disposer are given below in order. a) Selec ng/purchasing The Kitchen Sink Compa ble With The Garbage Disposer b) Greywater line c) Fresh water line d) Powerline a) Selec ng/purchasing The Kitchen Sink Compa ble With The Garbage Disposer Garbage disposers can be installed on all kinds of steel sinks that are used in the kitchen. The sink hole where the garbage disposer is to be installed must have a diameter of 90 mm. If the sink hole diameter is smaller than 90 mm, the hole is to be condi oned by the authorized service to make it suited for the garbage disposer (Figure 1A/1B/1C). If you don t have a sink in your kitchen available for installing the disposer and you want to purchase a new one, please make sure the sink has a hole suited to install the garbage disposer. You can also prefer Çöpmak under mount sink series or Çöpmak under sink mounted series disposer cabinets manufactured by Çöpmak. 7 Çöp Öğütücüleri Çöp Öğütücüleri Çöp Öğütücüleri b) Installation of the Greywater Line For the garbage disposer to be installed in your kitchen, grey water line should be made ready first at the spot where the appliance is to be mounted and operated. The greywater line must be a PVC pipe and must have a diameter of at least 50 mm. Otherwise, the garbage disposer can not be mounted. You should keep in mind that garbage disposer shreds the wastes into smaller particles and discharges them using water through the outflow drain. The height of the grey water line to be installed can not exceed the level of the outflow pipe of the garbage disposer. (Figure 3A) Unlike pumps, garbage disposers are not capable of forcing water from lower to higher. Garbage disposers discharge the greywater by gravity, taking advantage of the slope in the pipe. (Figure 3B) If the greywater inlet level is higher than the outlet of the garbage disposer, a technician should reduce the greywater inlet (Figure 3B). If the greywater line inlet level is higher than the outflow pipe of the garbage disposer water will build up inside the appliance as it can not be discharged with gravity which in turn leaks in the motor through the sealing ring and causes the motor to burn. In such a case, the warranty of the appliance will not be valid. The correct connection configuration is shown below (FIGURE 3B/B). Calculation of greywater inlet height for Çöpmak Under Sink Mounted Series is shown below (Figure A/B). 8 Çöp Öğütücüleri d) Installa on of Power Line Garbage disposer is powered with electric energy. Therefore, to run the garbage disposer power line must be drawn to the spot where the appliance will be operated. Required cable cross-sec on dimensions for the power line to be drawn may vary depending on the model you have purchased. If the garbage disposer to be installed has a single phase motor then the power cable cross sec on and specifica ons should be 3x2, 5TTR. If the garbage disposer is fi ed with a three-phase motor the power cable cross sec on and specifica ons should be 5x2, 5TTR. For safety reasons a fuse must be inserted before the line. In single phase power lines fuse ra ng should be 20 AMP, while for threephase lines 25 amp automa c fuse should be installed. The power line should have a 00 mm overhead above the level of the countertop where the garbage disposer will be installed. Keep in mind to leave extra 00 mm power line to ensure easy connec on into the circuit breaker. Installing the circuit breaker at with a 00mm overhead height is for to protect it (Figure 5A). 10 B) Connecting the garbage disposer to the inlet flange: Loosen the clamping bolt on the hopper gasket, which was first loosened slightly at the beginning of the installation, a little bit more. Raise the disposer with the aid of the technician, to the bottom entrance of the flange under the sink (Figure 21A/21B) Raise it until the hopper gasket clicks firmly into the channel located above the trash inlet and right after that tighten the hopper gasket clamp to the end strongly. (Figure 21C) FIGURE 21A FIGURE 21B FIGURE 21C C) Connection of the outflow pipe to the garbage disposer: Undo the two crosshead screws of the greywater discharge outlet on the side of the disposer. Take out the plastic cap on the greywater pipe packaged together with the disposer. Run the triangular metal ring coming out of the outflow around the outlet pipe of the disposer. After that, clip the rubber seal of the outflow pipe of the garbage disposer to the greywater drain. When clipping this seal, make sure the tapered section of the rubber seal is facing the clamp side. (Figure ) Lastly, using the triangular bracket, fasten the drain pipe against the body of the garbage disposer. Do not forget to turn the outflow pipe downwards while tightening it. (Figure B) FIGURE B FIGURE A D) Connection of outflow pipe of the garbage disposer to the greywater line Greywater discharge pipe is included in the garbage disposer package. One end of the discharge pipe is fitted with a flange to fit the regular Ø50 mm drain pipe in your kitchen and the other is plain with no flanges to be connected to the outflow pipe of the garbage disposer. Tuck the un-flanged end of the drain pipe onto the outlet pipe of the garbage disposer firmly. Connect the flanged end of the discharge pipe to the Ø50 mm PVC greywater drain pipe in your kitchen. Make sure to form a U shaped bend on the line connecting the garbage disposer to the drain line of your kitchen. This bent on the discharge pipe creates a blockage preventing odors, flies, insects and rodents which may access through the greywater line of the kitchen where the disposer is installed. 11 E) Power line connec on of the garbage disposer to the mains: Power connec on of disposers is carried out in two ways depending on the phase number of the AC input. First we will detail how the device is powered through a single phase power line. 1) Connec ng Single Phase Disposers to the Power Line (Çöpmak Model 100 and Model 200): Çöpmak 100 and 200 model garbage disposers run on single-phase power feed. (Voltage may vary according to the grid voltage of the country). To avoid a poten al work accident, make sure that there is no power is on line the power and the line fuse is off before beginning installa on. Opera on switch should be installed during the prepara on stage on the power line fixed at 00 mm height in the space the disposer is to be operated. Keep in mind that the red stop bu on of the circuit breaker should be at the bo om as an appropriate prac ce. Before connec ng the circuit breaker to the mains line, screw in the cable fi ngs of the circuit breaker on the inlet and outlet sec ons. Input To The Circuit Breaker: The power line from the mains has three 3 cables. These cables are color coded, namely brown (+) phase, blue neutral (-) and yellow is the ground (0). Connect the brown cable to the terminal #1 on the connec on box of circuit breaker. Connect the yellow cable to the ground plate mount located on the circuit breaker, the neutral line should go directly on the disposers without connec on on the circuit breaker. Line From The Circuit Breaker To The Disposer: Connect the brown (+) phase line from the disposer to the terminal #6 on the circuit breaker. Connect the yellow (0) wire from the disposer to the grounding plate on the circuit breaker. Join the blue (-) neutral line from disposer with the neutral (-) wire on the circuit breaker using the terminal connec on. Çöpmak 200 Pro model is fi ed with pneuma c ac vator (air switch), for installa on of this starter system a hole Ø32 mm diameter should be punched out on the front board of the countertop by a qualified technical service. Air switch components should be firmly mounted through the hole, a er that one end of the air hose should fixed air hose port on the air switch and the other end on the air hose inlet on the garbage disposer. 12 Mains line 2) Connecting Three Phase Disposers to the Power Line (Çöpmak Model 0 and Model 300): Çöpmak 0 Neo and 300 Max models are powered with 3-phase mains voltage. Operation switch should be installed during the preparation stage on the power line fixed at 00 mm height in the space the disposer is to be operated. Before connecting the circuit breaker to the mains line, screw in the cable fittings of the circuit breaker on the inlet and outlet sections. Three phase power lines usually are comprised of 5 cables. These cables are color coded, namely black phase (+), brown phase (+), gray phase (+) blue neutral (-)and yellow is the ground (0). Connection to circuit breaker: Black phase (+), brown phase (+), gray phase (+) blue neutral (-)and yellow is the ground (0). Firmly screw the ends to the terminals according to the following scheme; black (+) cable end to (1 L1), gray cable (+) to (3 L2), brown cable (+) to (5 L3), blue cable to the terminal marked with (N) and the yellow (0) wire to the grounding plate on the right side of the circuit breaker. If the mains line does not have the neutral connection, then the ground wire of the mains line should be connected to the neutral (N) terminal. Otherwise the activator button of the circuit breaker will not run properly and get the disposer functioning. To ensure the proper functioning of the circuit breaker neutral end must be connected to the terminal on the circuit breaker. Connection from circuit breaker to the disposer: Firmly screw the wires of the disposer to the terminals on the circuit breaker, according to the following scheme; Black (+)to terminal 2, gray cable (+) to terminal, brown cable (+) to terminal 6, blue cable to the terminal marked with (N) and the yellow (0) wire to the grounding plate on the circuit breaker. Connect the grounding end (0) to (N-) terminal on the circuit breaker. Three-phase powered disposers may rotate in opposite direction depending on the polarity of the mains current. If the disposer does not rotate clockwise in the first operation you have to swap the phase connections on the circuit breaker to ensure correct (clockwise) rotation. Çöpmak 300 Max models are fitted with pneumatic activator (Air switch ) systems. For installation of this starter system a hole Ø32 mm diameter should be punched out on the front board of the countertop by a qualified technical service. Air switch components should be firmly mounted through the hole, after that one end of the air hose should fixed air hose port on the air switch and the other end on the air hose inlet on the garbage disposer located above the terminal box. (Figure 25A) If the mains line does not have the neutral connection, then the ground wire (0) of the disposer should be connected to the neutral (N) terminal of circuit breaker. Otherwise the activator button of the circuit breaker will not run properly and get the disposer functioning. 13 3) Usage of the disposer a) Turn the water feed ON b) Switch the disposer ON c) Put all the vegetable,fruits,meat and fish scraps generated in your kitchen into the disposer. d) Once the wastes are shredded the noise of disposer will start to fade,indicating the disposal is completed. e) Turn off disposer first,then the water. ) What to put into a gargabe disposer? You can put into your Çöpmak Industrial Gargabe Disposer all sorts of pre-processing and postconsumption vegetable,fruit,meat and fish scraps generated in your kitchen along with small animal bones vegetables and fruit leaves. 5) What to avoid putting into a gargabe disposer? Do not trash recyclable wastes such as paper,glass,plastic,nylon,metal into your Çöpmak industrial garbage disposer. 6) Maintenance and Cleaning of Çöpmak Industrial Disposer a) Put wastes of citrus fruits like lemon and oranges periodically in your Çöpmak disposer to be shredded. These plants have accumulated acids in them,which both cleans the appliance and gives out pleasant a fragrance in the kitchen. b) Never use chemical cleaning agents such as hydrochloric acid,bleach,etc. to clean the interiors of the disposer. c) Never wet or wash the exterior surfaces of the disposer. d) Do not run the disposer on hot water. 7) Useful Information on energy economy a) To ensure less energy and water consumption do not turn the disposer on and intermittently with short intervals. b) Keep your wastes as long as possible and dispose them at one time. c) Dispose your scraps after you turned the water and the disposer on. Never put wastes into the device before the disposer is running. d) Waiting until the appliance runs on full motor speed to trash the wastes will extend the service life of the product while ensuring reduced water and energy consumption.

14 8) Precautions To Ensure Efficient And Extended Service Life Of The Product a) Never operate the disposer without water, make sure lukewarm or cold water is used. b) Never let garbage accumulate in the disposer, make sure you trash garbage after you turned the water and the disposer on. c) Put wastes of citrus fruits like lemon, tangerine and oranges periodically in your disposer to be shredded this will clean the appliance and give out a pleasant fragrance in the kitchen. d) Periodically run the disposer by throwing ice in it, this will remove the waste residues on the blades as well as hone the blades to ensure sharper edges. e) Never use chemical cleaning agents such as hydrochloric acid, bleach, etc. to clean the interiors of the disposer. 9) Guidelines For Maintenance and Repair Maintenance and repair services must be rendered by authorized Çöpmak service personnel, transaction slips for maintenance and repair services should be taken. 10) Warranty Terms and Conditions a) Two year warranty period starts from the date the disposer is installed. b) During the 2 year warranty period, material and mechanical defects caused by the manufacturer is under manufacturer's guarantee. c) The purpose of this device is to dispose vegetable, fruit, meat and fish scraps by shredding them. Industrial wastes (paper, glass, metal, plastic, etc...) should be avoided to be trashed into the disposer, otherwise practice will invalidate the warranty. d) During the warranty period technical interventions on the disposer can only be performed by authorized Çöpmak service personnel. Services rendered by parties other than authorized Çöpmak service personnel will invalidate the warranty. e) Use of the garbage disposer outside the scope of the indented purpose such as technical experiments or as auxiliary objects will invalidate the warranty. f) The user will be responsible for damages caused by knocking, hitting, dropping and cracking the disposer. g) Warranty will not be valid if the disposer is operated without water. The disposer must be operated with the magnetic thermal kill switch enclosed in the packaging. This switch provides magnetic thermal protection for the disposer in case a material to be avoided is put in the appliance. If this switch is disabled by the user, the warranty of the disposer will be invalidated.

15 11) Repairs That Can Be Performed By The Consumer If your disposer is not running, materials that should be avoided (paper, glass, plastic, metal, etc...) might have been put inside the appliance can be thrown. In such a case, authorized technical service must be called. The authorized technician will check if the blades are rotating freely, first by cutting the power from the fuse. If the blades are not rotating freely, the device is probable jammed as a results of unsuited objects put inside the disposer. In such a case ask for assistance from our call center though our hotline 900. If the blades are rotating freely, thermal killswitch on the activator must have been engaged. When pressing the reset button on the circuit breaker the disposer will be operational again. 12) Transport Considerations Protect the product from impacts during transport. Do not open the package before the authorized service personnel and do not purchase products with compromised packages. Keep the product away from magnetic media as the product has magnetic parts.
