2 1. Nationwide Secure This is an internet based system which is used by external recipients to communicate securely with people in Nationwide Building Society. Once you have set up the account you will be able to access your s. For guidance on using the secure system please see the Secure User guide which is available at 2. Setting up Secure . Step 1: You will receive an in your normal In box notifying you that you have received an using the Nationwide Secure System. You will need to contact the Nationwide employee who sent you the in order to obtain your Passphrase. Due to Nationwide s security policies they will not be able to the Passphrase and will need to speak to you on the telephone. 4 Step 3: You will need to enter a new Passphrase that meets the requirements detailed on the screen. This new Passphrase will be your password for gaining access to the Secure system for all future access, unless you change it at a later stage: Enter New Passphrase of your choice (which meets requirements) Re-enter new Passphrase Select Continue Step 4: Choose which option is to be used for delivery of secure s from Nationwide Building Society. Regular is the recommended choice. Select PGP Web Messenger only if you want all s from Nationwide to go into the Nationwide Secure . (Recommended) Select option for Regular s from Nationwide to go into your normal and encrypted s to go into Secure Select Choose Option when complete Version 1.01 November 2011 Page 4 of 5
