1 POST SCRIPTION Job Title: Senior Trainer Consultant Responsible to: irector of Business and Professional evelopment Responsible for: Not pplicable 1. Job Purpose: 1.1 To develop and deliver commercial training both on Institute and employer premises 1.2 To provide consultancy services to industry 1.3 To ensure that industry/sector intelligence is actively collected through proactive engagement with the sector and used to inform the development of the commercial and curriculum offer 2. Key Responsibilities 2.1 To develop effective and productive networks within the sector 2.2 To ensure targets for consultancy and training are achieved. 2.3 To ensure course materials are of a high quality including electronic learning materials 2.4 To provide day to day co-ordination and programme leadership of food industry related programmes 3. Specific uties 3.1 To deliver a mix of training, assessment and consultancy to meet business planned targets 3.2 To complete accurate and timely paperwork and reports as required by the Institute and external agencies 3.3 To contribute to a coordinated marketing approach to ensure that services are continually developed to meet market needs 3.4 To lead on the development and delivery of business solutions for the sector in order to meet Institute targets

2 3.5 To ensure new services are developed to meet an identified needs 3.6 To ensure the area meets both internal and external quality standards 3.7 To liaise with clients to ensure business objectives are achieved 3.8 To liaise with clients, service providers and other agencies to ensure that the business objectives are achieved 3.9 To perform such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility 4. Budget Responsibility The post has no specific budget responsibility other than the general requirement to ensure that any spending they are responsible for is undertaken in accordance with the Group s purchasing and financial regulations 5. Continuing Professional evelopment 5.1 The post holder will proactively take part in the Group ppraisal process and will appraise any staff they are responsible for 5.2 The post holder must undertake all training deemed mandatory by the Group (e.g. Safeguarding, quality and iversity and Health and Safety) and will be expected to attend all other relevant training and continuous professional development events. They are responsible for their own professional updating 6. Health and Safety 6.1 The post holder will be required: To take reasonable care to safeguard their own safety and that of others with whom they work; To cooperate with designated officers named by the Governors and/or the Principal and any other designated Institute manager to enable the Institute to comply with its obligations under Health and Safety legislation. Not to interfere with or to misuse anything provided in the interests of health and safety or welfare. Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable dults The Group recognises that it has a statutory and moral duty towards safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and, if appropriate, vulnerable adults who participate in any Institute group activities and expects all staff to share this commitment. ll safeguarding mandatory training and updating must be undertaken (see 5.2) 9. Senior Trainer Consultant mployee Specification Qualities Specific Requirements By Qualifications & Training egree or equivalent professional or industry recognised qualifications/ accreditations/professional recognition etc in a relevant subject area Up to date and sustained record of CP Teacher training qualification Minimum level 2 in numeracy, literacy or equivalent and ICT literate /O Recognised/approved tutor status with awarding bodies relevant to the food sector such as RSPH, CIH etc or, meeting their requirements to obtain this

4 Specialist Knowledge Knowledge of delivering qualifications and awarding body requirements Knowledge of curriculum development Specialist knowledge that supports the ability to deliver a range of related subjects, consultancy and, qualifications to at least L4 xperience Minimum of 3 years industrial experience in the sector xperience of delivering training and development solutions xperience of working successfully with others as well as a personal track record of achieving challenging targets Skills and ttributes Integrity Other Flexibility and adaptability xcellent communication and interpersonal skills Willingness to develop self Good organizational planning and administrative skills ffective networking skills and industry connectivity CRB check carried out on appointment Fit for the duties of the post riving licence and own transport I IO Qualities indentified and determined by :
