One of the many sets of property related information provided within the map service is the Council land ownership of the corporate estate. We are continually improving the accuracy and quality of the the property information held by the Council and would ask that you accept that some of the records may not display the correct boundaries. We therefore recommend you use the information as a guide only and refer any issues to us at the contact address listed above. Internet Web address Instructions to view council managed land on the map based Internet facility PinPoint 1. To access the Council land ownership map information please click on the Internet web address link above to take you to our map site.

If you know the address of a property left click once on the tab marked 'Find Location' towards the top of the screen and enter the street name (you can enter a street or postcode) and then click on Find address. The right hand side of the web page will then list all addresses found which match the one you have entered. If more than one page of addresses is found use the left or right chevron arrows (top right of the list of addresses above Locate on Map) to display the next set of addresses. 3. Click in the box to the right of an address you recognise to turn on the check box. The map will now zoom in and locate the address 4. If the PinPoint map service does not find the correct address try repeating steps 1-3 for a different street or postcode. 5. When the correct map locality is displayed click on the tab marked 'Explore Map'. 6. In the list of layers double click the left mouse button on the layer list item called Council and Democracy. 7. When the list of available layers under Council and Democracy opens place a tick in the check box against the layer called Council Managed Land by left click once in the box. If already ticked on then you may want to remove the tick in the Polling Stations check box but you do not have to. 8. To enable you to view the council land ownership records you will now need to refresh the screen by clicking on update map icon which should be marked in

3 red outline. The council managed and owned land will now be displayed on the map as a pink colour wash. 9. Please note that whenever you change add or remove layers on the map by clicking in the check boxes you will need to refresh the map. You can change the scale of the map area by clicking in the drop down scale box immediately above the map. A useful scale could be 1:1500. Also, it is advisable to change the background mapping to grey rather than coloured as this will make it easier to identify Council property. This is done by clicking on the three vertical bars under the words site map. This facility enables you to toggle between grey background mapping and full colour background mapping. 10.You can zoom in closer to the property by using the navigation buttons at the top of the map. 11.To display information held against each property record left click on the pink shape immediately to the left of the layer name Council Managed Land to turn the information facility on. A blue information button will appear. 12.To find out information about a particular property first left click on the blue information button to the left of the Council Managed Land layer name.

4 13.Now move your mouse cursor over a pink colour washed area and left click with your mouse.

5 14.The information published by the Corporate Property Team will now be displayed on the right of the screen. You can repeat this process as many times as you wish. 15. If desired, an Adobe Acrobat print-out of the plan can be produced by clicking on the Adobe Acrobat icon under the words Contact Us. Also, it is possible to save the plan as a file as an alternative to printing. 16.To display information about other map layers held on PinPoint map service please follow the procedures detailed above but choose a different item from the layer list - see step 6.
