6 EFTS Client Provides the Power to Manage and Streamline Your Devices The EFTS Client uses a modular approach built on the XFS layer. Feature rich, it enables the performance of a comprehensive range of business transactions. Automated configuration detection At start-up and at the beginning of the idle loop, the EFTS Client starts a device self test to detect the current configuration, in particular the state of the XFS devices and the state or value of the device hardware. The EFTS Client continuously monitors the self-service device and reports its status. It listens to XFS error events and logs manufacturer specific error codes for later analysis. All status and transaction information are transferred to the EFTS Server to be monitored there. EFTS Client Modules Controller Module This module controls all the modules within the EFTS Client. Transaction Module and EMV Chip Module The transaction module is responsible for processing and routing data received from the services module to the communication module for sending to the EFTS Server. This module also communicates with the EMV Chip module when EMV chip card transactions are being processed. Services Module This module is responsible for the communication between the EFTS Client modules and the XFS layer which drives the hardware. Communication Module This module is responsible for sending and receiving messages between the EFTS Client and the EFTS Server. It passes incoming messages to the internal modules for further processing. Supervisor Module This is the user interface for first and second line maintenance during service visits such as cash or consumables replenishment and pick up of retained cards. Translator Module This module translates text strings into multiple languages. Watchdog Module This is an external module which monitors the health status of the EFTS Client application and performs self healing by restarting the client if the network is not reachable or the system hangs.

Its multivendor capability is essential for successful monitoring and management of self-service devices of various manufacturers. EFTS Terminal Management System The Terminal Management System is a web-based tool consisting of three main categories: Device, Monitoring and Administration. The Terminal Management System offers information regarding the status of self-service devices and their individual components, as well as statistical information, electronic journal data and an automatic dispatching of service providers in case of hardware errors. Its user administration allows the allocation of individual user access privileges. The monitoring tool is well suited for both internal as well as external use: employees at the customer hotline are able to give real-time information regarding a transaction; the monitoring team can check the entire device network and can make arrangements with service providers to keep to agreed SLAs; employees of the bank are able to handle customer complaints and use it for reconciliation purposes.
