1 Hello Buying Club (BC) Members! Below is a list of jobs that need to be filled, how many people are needed for each job, the type of job (online,, in person), the job description, special skills that might be helpful for that particular job. Note that jobs are online (internet) only, meaning you do ALL your work online whenever you want to. Some jobs require talking to people on the. Some jobs are in-person--you need to actually be place at a certain time each month, or meet one face-to-face, etc. Some jobs are a combination of or all are indicated as such. Also, jobs require computer access, printer access, access, etc. Some jobs require heavy lifting (or at least the potential for such), bending stooping, etc. Some jobs require a vehicle. A NOTE ABOUT ALTERNATES: Although the alternate position does not have a fixed task, it is nonetheless an essential position. Alternates are necessary because a) we may have more members than jobs; b) there may be times people are out of town or for other reasons cannot meet their job commitments for a particular month. Therefore, if when you are signing up, all the jobs are already taken OR if you would prefer to have shifting responsibilities help out in a pinch instead of taking on a single, regular job, please sign up as an alternate. Alternates could turn out to be a VERY important way to help the BC run smoothly. The responsibilities of the alternates are described in detail below (it's the last job listed). Each alternate will be trained to hle -3 regular jobs in the event that the person who holds that particular job should become unavailable (we have structured it so that the alternates' jobs are grouped by skill/task type). Alternates will be contacted to determine what set of jobs they would like to be trained for (OR you can indicate this when you sign up). Please be advised that if you are signing up to be an alternate this means you could be contacted to help out at the last minute. Thanks! 2 Ensure that all workers underst their job responsibilities. Jump in when needed delegate responsibilities as necessary. & troubleshooting skills. Highly organized. Ability to see the whole picture. Volunteer online Make sure all BC jobs are always filled, keep track of who is doing which jobs, communicate with the people whose job it is to update the volunteer database, recruit people for unfilled jobs, working with Database God(dess) to keep track of who is working which jobs who has worked how many days/hours Phone. Database God(dess)(es) Create maintain database of BC members, maintain list of BC members, keep track of BC member status as founding members of the NO Food Coop, creating logins for members for online grocery-ordering system, synchronizing list/member list/login list, working with Volunteer s to keep track of who is working which jobs who has worked how many days/hours access database skills. Communication online, Coordinate, maintain, send out s to members about orders any other announcements. May have to coordinate with people doing of the other jobs. Local Goods Development -3 to start inperson Help develop relationships between the Buying Club producers of local goods (produce, other food products), coordinate maintain the purchasing of these local goods by BC members, including tracking of inventory. Will need to communicate with membership people doing other BC jobs. Phone skills. At least one person willing to use car, possibly to drive out of the city. Finance 1 may inperson Pay for the BC's order each month (using our bank account), deposit any checks cash into the bank (this will not be necessary once Financial record-keeping skills.

Communicate with Order Divvy Pickup s to find out about any problems with an order, solve these problems as they come up: groceries delivered that we did not purchase; BC members who did not pick up their groceries; items that we paid for that were not delivered, etc. Must communicate online or by with the grocery distributor's office to solve problems. Will probably need to communicate a bit with the Finance. Meet the truck once a month (probably a weekday during the day), should have a pickup truck or other larger vehicle available, should be able to carry heavy boxes of groceries. After you meet the truck you take the groceries to the BC storeroom. MUST be Communicate with Volunteer s to make sure each month's divvy will be staffed, print out all invoices inventory lists for each divvy, go to each divvy supervise the divvy itself. Will also probably need to communicate with the Phone skills. Ability to think on your feet! Vehicle flexible schedule (must be able to meet the truck when it gets here). Likely heavy lifting. with printer ( paper). Interpersonal skills. Good

4 Divvy Workers 4-6 Grocery Pickup Grocery Pickup Workers Inventory -3 online/, online, Grocery Pickup s. Needs access to a printer, having MS Explorer on a PC is best for printing invoices from the distributor's website. Coordinate communicate with Divvy Workers. Alternate is for when the Divvy is out of town. Divvys are on weeknights, usually -3 hours in the evening. Staff the divvy each month, must COMMIT to staying until all the groceries are divvied each month, divvy happens on a weeknight, usually -3 hours beginning around 6 or 6:30 p.m. 4-5 people may not be necessary each month but if we have 4-5 volunteers, you can rotate months. Must be One weeknight per month, staff the evening when BC members come to pick up their groceries. Usually 1.5 to hours starting at 7 p.m. or so. Keep track of people who do not show up to pick up their groceries, give noshows' info names to the Order Troubleshooter. Communicate with Divvy Order Troubleshooter as needed about any problems such as groceries that did not show up. Oversee the Grocery Pickup Workers, communicate with Volunteer to make sure the pickup is always staffed. Must be One weeknight per month, staff the evening when BC members come to pick up their groceries. Usually 1.5 to hours starting at 7 p.m. or so. Help people find their groceries, make sure they have everything, helping them with any problems. Keep track of any general BC grocery stock we have, due to food we order to fill people's cases, mistaken items sent by organizational skills willingness to delegate. Likely heavy lifting. Lots of bending stooping. Organizational skills ability to delegate. Cell skills. Ability to thinkon-your feet. Evening availability. Efficient Organized, problem solving skills.

5 Post-divvy maintenance Alternates 4 Depends upon position to be filled for that month distributor, etc. Communicate with BC members to sell our stock. Will need to communicate coordinate with several other workers: Divvy, Finance, Communication s, etc. It is up to you how to deal with selling our inventory, but that is what you are in charge of! Create maintain. Clean up the store-room after each divvy (trash, dust, sweep, mop), make sure we have enough supplies for the next divvy (markers, plastic bags), communicate with Finance to order more supplies as needed. Alternates are our pinch hitters who will fill in as needed based upon who is out of town or cannot work their shift on any given month. Should be flexible able to fill in in a variety of positions as needed. Alternate One will be on call for Divvy/ Grocery Pick-up s. Alternate Two will be on call for Order/ Communication s. Alternate Three will be on call for Troubleshooter/ Finance. Alternate Four will be on call for Buying Club s. Other tasks as requested or needed. Phone computer. Neat streak. Flexibility, ability to jump in do what's needed. access is probably helpful. Good people organizational skills will be helpful.
