Människan i komplexa tekniska system eller vad gör en psykolog på en teknisk högskola? Lena Mårtensson Leg psykolog Fil dr i industriell arbetsvetenskap på KTH Professor på KTH Ledamot av KTHs styrelse
Welcome to KTH KTH, Royal Institute of Technology
Industrial Work Science, School of Industrial Engineering and Management, KTH Industrial work science at KTH operates in the interface between users, organisations, and technology, with a developmental perspective.
Arbetsvetenskap undervisar ca 900 teknologer/år Selected Master level courses: Arbetsvetenskap, grundkurs Människa-maskinsystem Psykologi för ingenjörer Risk hantering i komplexa tekniska system Ledarskap Human Resource Management Organisationsförändringar
Två forskningsområden Människa-maskin system (Human Factors Eng.) Lena Mårtensson, Professor Pernilla Ulfvengren, Ph.D, civ ing Fredrik Barchéus, Ph.D, civ ing Research areas: Human-machine interaction in industry, aeronautic systems, user centred design. Operations and Change Management Marianne Ekman Gäst Professor Matti Kaulio, Ph.D., Senior lecturer Kristina Palm, Ph.D., Researcher Research areas: Leadership, Sustainable work systems, organisational change, innovation management
Industrial Work Science, at KTH since 1970 Is characterised by: Cross-scientific research Close collaboration with industry Develop technology and organisations which are sustainable from an economic, social, technological perspective. Future engineers will be part of highly social contexts, will develop technology to be used by human beings. Active participation of the human being will result in sustainable, competitive, and productive industry.
Complex technical systems charaterized by: Several co-operating subsystems with different technologies, e.g. mechanics, physics, pneumatics, electronics and software; A deep integration of functions which are dependent on each other; Difficulties to communicate betw different knowledge and technology areas; People are involved in the operation of the system.
Contributions of automation to compl systems (Billings, 1996) Manage information and present it in an easily understood manner; Integrate processes without coupling them in a way that the operator can understand what the automation is doing; Keep the operator involved by informing about what it is doing; Provide decision and action options without limiting the operator to bypass them when needed.
Human contributions to complex systems (Billings, 1996) Flexibility; Creativity; Knowledge about the complete situation by using ALL available sources of information; Ability to cope with incomplete knowledge and uncertainty.
