4 Propex TM TeetoGreen TM vs. Soil Erosion Erosion plagues almost every golf course and becomes one of the most expensive, difficult and time-consuming endeavors that a course owner or manager must address. Soil erosion can devastate fairways, bunkers, tee boxes, and even greens. Water features such as streams and lakes that once were showpieces of a championship course become eyesores as cultivated vegetation gives way to ugly patches of exposed soil, scarped banks and slumping slopes that can make playing your course an unappealing golfing experience. Propex TeetoGreen consists of solutions that feature innovative Turf Reinforcement Mat (TRM) technology for permanent erosion protection. Propex TeetoGreen TRMs have patented X3 Fiber Technology a unique Trilobal cross-section that captures sediment, retains moisture, and provides more opportunity for entanglement and reinforcement of vegetation roots and stems. Features and Benefits of Propex TeetoGreen TRMs for permanent erosion control include: Turf Reinforcement Mat Ultraviolet (UV) Resistance for up to 50 years of performance High strength and durability to resist damage from maintenance, wildlife and debris Lightweight and flexible for ease of delivery and installation Specially designed with X3 Fiber Technology to promote root entanglement while containing moisture and soil for superior vegetative growth Adapted specifically for ease of maintenance, providing stable and uniform surfaces for conventional equipment to operate Erosion pollutes creeks and streams, and damages playable areas on the golf course Propex TeetoGreen TRMs are high-strength, UV resistant, durable, permanent erosion control solutions 1

5 Protect and Stabilize Propex TeetoGreen TRMs also utilize innovative securing devices to permanently fasten to the soil and provide the ultimate environment for vegetation establishment. Depending on the application, securing pins from 12" to 24" can be used, and often supplemented with Earth Percussion Anchors. These anchors can range from 36" to over 9' embedment length, and lock under the ground to provide superior resistance to subsurface soil movement. This gives Propex TeetoGreen TRMs phenomenal advantages to not only protect against erosion, but to provide resistance to slope failures and bank collapse due to high flows and pounding waves. Turf Reinforcement Mat Restore the shorelines of lakes and ponds throughout the course by protecting them with gently sloped, playable vegetated banks Repair slumped and collapsed stream and creek banks, preventing encroachment into playable areas Stabilize steep slopes in hazard areas, as well as adjacent to greens, tee boxes, bunkers and other features Convert otherwise unplayable areas of rough into aesthetically pleasing, playable vegetated surfaces that enhance the course Earth Percussion Anchors Reduce or eliminate hazard areas to speed up play and provide a more enjoyable course experience The unique advantage of the Propex TeetoGreen solution is the economic feasibility compared to other permanent erosion control and stabilization alternatives. The lightweight, flexible systems allow for competitively priced solutions that make use of fewer materials, and require less labor and can be installed in rapid fashion. Earth Percussion Anchors are driven to embedment depth and locked providing a cone of resistance made of consolidated soil below Propex TeetoGreen provides the opportunity to enhance playable areas of the course with aesthetic, vegetated, maintainable surface improvements 2

8 Project Spotlight: Stonebridge Country Club, Boca Raton, Florida Lake Bank Shoreline Restoration Beautiful lakes within the Stonebridge Country Club have been plagued by erosion of shorelines from wind generated waves and seepage. Erosion along some lake shorelines has been significant enough to hinder maintenance and become hazardous to golfers and adjacent property owners. Recent attempts to stabilize using geotubes helped, but didn t provide the permanent performance or ease of maintenance required by the Club. Propex TeetoGreen was installed in 2014 as a permanent, natural appearance slope stabilization solution that satisfied the maintenance team, club members and surrounding homeowners. 9 Project Spotlight: Germantown Country Club, Memphis, Tennessee Fairway Streambank Restoration Continuous flooding from upstream development resulted in years of deterioration of fairway drainage channels throughout the Germantown Country Club golf course. In 2013, the Club opted to use Propex TeetoGreen (in lieu of more riprap) for permanent, vegetated stabilization of eroded channel banks. The installation was simple and rapid, allowing for abbreviated course closure time and minimal disturbance of the playable areas. The TeetoGreen solution was tested right away as storms in late 2013 caused bank-full channel flows, but the Propex TeetoGreen solution provided championship performance. THE PROBLEM Eroded and slumping stream banks degrading fairway THE SOLUTION Propex TeetoGreen installed for protection THE INSTALLATION Rapid, simple installation of flexible, soft armoring solution THE PERFORMANCE Vegetated streambanks able to protect fairway from erosion Contact our team to learn more about the features and benefits of the Propex TeetoGreen solution propexteetogreen.com Application: Location: Owner: Contractor: Fairway Streambank Restoration Germantown C.C. 10 Project Spotlight: Chattanooga Golf & Country Club, Chattanooga, Tennessee Fairway Channel Restoration In 2009, the City of Chattanooga learned that stormwater runoff from a large drainage area had severely eroded banks within the main fairway channel of the Chattanooga Golf & Country Club. Immediate repairs were required, and cost-sharing between the City and Club prompted negotiation of an already constricted budget. Propex TeetoGreen was identified as the perfect solution to stabilize channel banks above a new stone-walled drainage way, as it provided a cost-effective and green alternative to additional riprap and concrete. A Hole-in-One for the Club and the City! THE PROBLEM Substantial deterioration of lake shore from erosion THE SOLUTION Propex TeetoGreen installed for protection THE INSTALLATION Rapid, low-impact installation of permanent solution THE PERFORMANCE Gently sloped, maintainable shoreline enhances course Propex TeetoGreen FEATURES & BENEFITS Permanent, Effective Restoration Solution Low-Impact and Rapid Installation Green, Naturally Vegetated Shoreline Cost-Effective Over Traditional Hard Armoring Solutions Proven Technology Sustainable Results Application: Location: Owner: Engineer Contractor: Structural Channel Bank Stabilization Chattanooga Golf & Country Club Chattanooga Golf & Country Club and City of Chattanooga (joint venture) City of Chattanooga Dillard Construction Dayton, TN 7

11 Project Spotlight: Desert Rose Golf Course, Las Vegas, Nevada Fairway Channel Erosion Protection Immense flooding throughout Las Vegas in 2012 eclipsed capacity of the Las Vegas and Flamingo washes, causing erosion damage to the Desert Rose Golf Course. Clark County officials took on renovation of the public course as part of the flood protection effort. They brought in seasoned industry leaders, Heckenkemper Golf Design and Wadsworth Golf Construction to design and build improvements. Propex TeetoGreen was used to line the wash to provide a beautified and protected Bermuda grass channel, playable within the course!
