Use of Digital Resources: Students learned to use different types of software to create various digital resources such as text, graphics, sound clips and video clips. VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY August 1995 May 1996 University of Iowa Iowa City, IA Taught introductory, graduate-level courses in instructional design and technology: Computer Applications for Instruction: A comprehensive course covering five major instructional methodologies (tutorials, drills, simulations, games and tests); the process of designing computer-based instruction, current topics in CAI such as multimedia/hypermedia, constructivist teaching models/theories (cognitive apprenticeship, situated cognition and cognitive flexibility theory) and various software tools for authoring (Authorware, Director and Toolbook), animation (Director and Flash) and graphics production (SuperPaint) were also introduced. Introduction to Instructional Design: A comprehensive course on the entire ID process. Students applied knowledge of the five major phases of the instructional design process (learner and content analysis, instructional strategy development, production of instruction and formative and summative evaluation) to develop a lesson on a topic of their choice.
