1 Jb Descriptin Questinnaire (JDQ) Prfessinal Staff Instructins What is the JDQ?: The Jb Descriptin Questinnaire (JDQ) is a critical dcument that identifies and describes the majr duties, essential functins and minimum qualificatins f a psitin. In additin, the Jb Descriptin prvides general emplyment infrmatin such as title, rganizatinal structure, and funding surces. The JDQ is used t establish market cmparatrs and benchmarks, set cmpensatin, create jb annuncements, pst vacancies, cmmunicate expectatins, and set perfrmance standards. Wh Cmpletes the JDQ?: Cmpletin f this frm shuld be a jint effrt by bth the incumbent and the supervisr. Hwever, the supervisr is respnsible fr the final cntent and accuracy f the jb infrmatin prvided. If the JDQ is being cmpleted fr a new r vacant psitin, the supervisr and/r department head shuld cmplete the JDQ. PURPOSE OF THE JOB: This psitin prvides design, develpment, revisin, management, and supprt f nline curses and prgrams supprted by the ecampus Center (ec2), Divisin f Extended Studies (ES) acrss the curriculum f Bise State University wrking directly with faculty t prvide pedaggical and instructinal design cnsultatin t supprt effective and innvative delivery f academic credit curses t nline students. The successful applicant will assist faculty thrugh cnsultatins, trainings, and referrals in learning and using instructinal technlgies such as learning management systems, cllabratin sftware, digital images, vide, audi, and classrm presentatin tls. This psitin will c-instruct ecampus Quality Instructin Prgram (eqip) nline teacher training classes as assigned, c-facilitate eqip curse develpment chrt as assigned, and cmplete Quality Matters (QM) reviews as assigned. 3. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES Instructinal Design (E - 60%) Prvide individual faculty cnsultatins t assist with: creating clear and measurable learning bjectives. aligning curse activities, learning materials, and assessments with learning bjectives. designing and redesigning curses fr nline delivery mdes that include the incrpratin f learning management system tls fr instructin and cmmunicatin. designing and structuring curse cntent, learning activities and assessments based n adult learning theries, Quality Matters standards, instructinal design principles, and nline pedaggical strategies that include accessibility and universal design applicatins. designing, creating and deplying multimedia and interactive learning bjects such as screencasts, vdcasts, pdcasts, web resurces and third-party instructinal materials. Assist administratrs and faculty with identifying current instructinal issues and implementing nline strategies t address issues and imprve curse effectiveness. Assist with creatin and maintenance f tutrials, tls and templates based n quality standards and instructinal design principles t accelerate the efficient and effective design and develpment f nline curses and t meet the specific needs f the disciplines and prgrams. Manage the design and develpment f nline curses cnsistent with established departmental prcesses and prcedures and using effective time/task management strategies t cmplete prjects. Effectively cmmunicate and cllabratively wrk with stakehlders (faculty, team members, etc.) t manage and achieve prject gals. Wrk with multiple deadlines and multiple prjects simultaneusly in a fast-paced, changing envirnment. Prvide effective and efficient custmer service. eqip Prgram Supprt (E- 30%) Assist with eqip instructin, facilitatin, and assessment n a rtating basis. Wrk clsely with the eqip Crdinatr t prvide quality custmer service t subject matter experts (SME) investing in nline curse/prgram develpment. Divisin f Extended studies and the ecampus Center (E-5%) Develp and maintain psitive, cllabrative, respect-based relatinships with c-wrkers, clients, and stakehlders within and utside f Bise State. Wrk effectively and cperatively as a member f the ecampus Center team. Supprt the prgrams and activities f Extended Studies staff. Wrk with supervisr t peridically review, update and mdify jb descriptin as needed. Perfrm ther duties as required. Prfessinal Develpment (E-5%) Wrk with supervisr t develp a prfessinal develpment plan with annual gals t accmplish the plan. Actively pursue excellence, effectiveness, and efficiency. Online educatin is an evlving field in higher educatin. As such it is imprtant that all prfessinal staff members dedicate at least 1 hur per week t becme and remain current in the areas mst relevant t their psitin thrugh activities including reading the recent literature, educatinal activities, and netwrking. Identify emerging trends that add value t the wrk f the ecampus Center, incrprate them r recmmend imprvements, and strive t ensure that Bise State s practices are current. Wrk with supervisr t identify the areas f mst imprtance and best avenues t pursue. Remain cnversant in current trends and literature in the fields f instructinal design and nline educatin, as well as participate in related cnferences, prfessinal rganizatins and/r prfessinal develpment pprtunities. 4. Experience and demnstrated cmpetence with nline learning tls and nline assessment strategies that enables chsing tls apprpriate t learning bjectives. Demnstrated ability wrking with learning management/nline learning platfrms (i.e. Blackbard), web cnferencing (such as Blackbard Cllabrate frmerly Wimba and Elluminate), scial netwrking, prblem-based learning, case studies, learner analytics, learner interactivity (such as Raptivity and Articulate), HTML, Micrsft Wrd, Excel, and PwerPint. 3. SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE AND PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Describe the minimum skills and specialized jb knwledge that are required t perfrm the respnsibilities f this psitin at the entry level. Examples: knwledge f gvernment regulatins, prduct and marketing knwledge, specialized prcess knwledge, prblem slving skills, custmer knwledge, cmputer literacy, etc. Prject management skills demnstrating strng cnceptual and analytical skills, planning abilities, and sund judgment; Priritize and handle multiple, cmplex, demanding prjects simultaneusly; Familiar with usability/accessibility requirements such as ADA Sectin 580, universal design strategies in nline learning envirnments, and W3C Web Accessibility Initiative and Guidelines; student identity authenticatin; and technlgy issues specific t fully nline educatin.
