2 6 TH Arrhythmias for every Cardiologist BeLGIAN HEART RHYTHM MEETING Dear Colleagues, The Belgian Heart Rhythm Meeting aims at sharing expertise on the various diagnostic tools and therapeutic possibilities available to practitioners when deciding upon which approach best serves your arrhythmic patient. Accreditation CME credit points are requested for cardiology and economy/ethics. The Belgian Heart Rhythm Association (BeHRA) is pleased to announce the 6 th Belgian Heart Rhythm Meeting Arrhythmias for every Cardiologist Thursday 4 th and Friday 5 th October 2012 to be held at the Sheraton Brussels Airport Hotel and Congress Centre. This meeting is specifically designed for all cardiologists and welcomes yearly over 500 participants. Every cardiologist has patients with rhythmological problems and an increasing interest is seen amongst non arrhythmia specialists for arrhythmia related issues. Our aim is to share expertise on the various diagnostic tools and therapeutic possibilities available to cardiologists when deciding upon which approach best serves your arrhythmic patients. This meeting, organised in the heart of Europe, will provide a balanced programme with clinical cases and discussions on how to manage the everyday patient. Renowned national and international speakers will present state-of-the-art lectures, case-based discussions, abstracts and posters. Practical issues will be discussed in relation with the most recent guidelines about all fields of arrhythmia i.e. the use of defibrillators, pacemakers, telemonitoring, drug management including anticoagulation for atrial fibrillation... 5 Friday, 5 th October 2012 Parallel morning sessions for cardiovascular nurses Sessie voor cardiovasculaire verpleegkundigen Ritmestoornissen zijn een frequent voorkomend probleem bij hartpatiënten. Cardiovasculaire verpleegkundigen dienen voldoende kennis en vaardigheden te hebben over de diagnostiek en behandeling van arrhythmieën, om adequate zorg voor de patiënten te kunnen verlenen. De Belgian Heart Rhythm Association organiseert in samenwerking met de Belgische Werkgroep voor Cardiovasculaire Verpleegkunde een sessie voor verpleegkundigen. Deze sessie vindt plaats op vrijdag 5 oktober 2012 van 9.00u tot 12.30u. De lezingen in deze sessie worden in het Nederlands gegeven. Plaatsen zijn beperkt. Session pour les infirmier(ère)s cardiovasculaires Les arythmies sont un problème fréquent chez les patients cardiaques. Afin de donner des soins adéquats, les infirmier(ère)s cardiovasculaires devraient avoir des connaissances et des compétences suffisantes sur le diagnostic et le traitement des arythmies. Le Belgian Heart Rhythm Association, en collaboration avec le Groupe de Travail Belge des Infirmier(ère)s Cardiovasculaires, organise une session pour les infirmier(ère)s. Cette session aura lieu le vendredi 5 octobre 2012 de 9h00 à 12h30. Les présentations de cette session seront données en français. Les places sont limitées. Abstracts Submission Deadline 2 nd July 2012 Only online submission will be considered Website: Upon submission of your abstract, please make sure you receive an acknowledgment of receipt. Guidelines Abstracts must be written in English. The title should be brief, clearly indicating the nature of the study. Abbreviations are allowed but must be clearly defined. Organise the abstract as follows: - sentence statement of the study s specific objectives, unless this is given by the title - methods used - summary of results - conclusion Typing Instructions The abstract must be submitted in Word. Use typeface Times New Roman, font size 12. Names of authors (initial of first name and surname, underline presenting author s name only) and Institution or Hospital, City and Country must be in small letters. Do not repeat names of authors and institution in your text. Do not include degrees or titles. The rest of the text should contain no more than 400 words. Do not leave blank lines. Single space all typing. Use generic names of drugs. Write numbers as numerals rather than words. Avoid references.
