4 September 2014 Revision 1 Welcome to Kier To help the business run as smoothly as possible we have put together some guidelines explaining the basic elements of the Kier brand, corporate stationery and signatures. These guidelines will explain how the Kier brand should be used by every employee and stakeholder to help support a brand that is both cohesive and professional. As part of the evolution of the Kier brand we need to ensure consistency of approach in our brand look and feel. This means rationalising the colour palette we use as well as ensuring we remain true to the Kier brand identity. Please take time to read these guidelines and familiarise yourselves with the information provided and implement the Kier brand where necessary. Nicola Marsden Corporate Communications & Marketing Director Kier Ltd We hope this guide is useful. Any questions regarding the use of these guidelines should be directed to marketing@kier.co.uk 2
5 Kier Group Mobilisation guidelines Where can I access the logo and how should I use it? The Kier logo can be found on MyKier. This is the preferred version of our master logo. It must appear on a white background and predominantly sits on the left of communications, either at the top or bottom of the document. Other logo options are available i.e. colour reversed out, mono and mono reversed out. For a full explanation of how to use these logos please marketing@kier.co.uk 3

11 Kier Group Mobilisation guidelines How to answer calls and update voic When answering the phone, we simply refer to ourselves as Kier. There is no need to refer to your individual business unit or department. This helps us be consistent. So for example: Good morning/good afternoon Kier. Likewise, please update your voic . A good example of typical message would be: Hello, you have reached the voic of [your name] from Kier. I am not available to take your call right now so please leave your name and number and I will get back to you as soon as possible. If a site is purely operated by Cartledge (or any of the other retained brands) then the phone should be answered in that name. However, if the site or office has multiple businesses or offerings operating from it, then the phones should be answered Kier. 9
