Smart Vending Anywhere (SMARTvend) 2.1 System Introduction SMARTvend is the core sub-system of INHEMETER smart vending system. SMARTvend is introduced after years experience of developing IC card prepayment energy meter vending system, keypad prepayment energy meter vending system and comprehensive automatic meter reading system. It adopts B/S and C/S mixing network construction and achieve prepayment & post-payment as well as vending function under network data s centralized management. Meanwhile, it also provide management function for other business like debts, fees, and warehouse management. Provide interface for the third party system: like the third party agent system (SMARTagent) and power company s corresponding financial system as well as business system. 4 / 28

Multi-platform supporting: SMARTvend can operate in Unix, Linux, Windows platform. 7 Smart Vending Anywhere System Solution Note: Above-mentioned server application can be grouped according to customer demand and development condition; all service function operated in one server is supported as well. 2.4 Vending Station SMARTvend supports internet vending, and also develop a vending desktop client to satisfy the area with slow internet speed. With this, vending station just need basic official equipment like computer, bill printer, card reader) as well as slow network service to achieve normal vending. 6 / 28

8 Smart Vending Anywhere System Solution To meet the vending demands of some specific area with poor network, we recommend distributed off-line vending mode as picture below: Instruction: Green arrow: good network Red arrow: can t purchase electricity normally Yellow communication channel: not real-time data transfer Each DC and SC has independent data base and vending security module, VS uses SC s data base and security module through direct connection with network. When users recharge through SMS, internet, mobile POS and ATM, vending system access DC data base directly and generate vending TOKENs for users. While usually, users purchase electricity through the nearest vending station(vs). VS1 exchange date with upper level SC1 directly through on-line network connection, and generate TOKENs for users through SC1 s security module. When network between VS4 and SC1 disconnects, users still can purchase normally with VS1, VS2, VS3. Off-line connection between SC and DC: Exchange Data interface(edi) and communication like PSTN GPRS Ethernet Internet etc. can be used to transfer 7 / 28

If Network between DC and SC is good, SC s EDI client side service program will connect DC s service program directly, and upload SC s latest vending records as well as using contract records to DC through DC s server-side. Meanwhile, SC s EDI client-side program will download each SC to DC through DC s EDI server-side, analyse each records and update to SC s data base. This real-time on-line data exchange achieves fictitious on-line connection. And with this, It achieves data transfer between SC and DC as well as the data share between SC and VS. If network between DC and SC disconnects, SC s EDI client-side service program can t connect with DC s EDI server-side, and can t achieve data transfer. But DC and SC have independent data base so as to assure users daily purchase. If network recovers, EDI client-side service program will connect to DC s EDI server-side automatically, and upload native vending records and download server-side s latest using contract records, so as to finish off-line data transfer and achieve off-line data share. When the finish of data transfer between DC and SC through EDI service, user can purchase at any VS or SC, or through on-line ways like internet, SMS, ATM etc. which called the real distributed off-line vending function. 2.5 Third Party Data Interface The third party s data interface is used for external system like the third party agent system (SMARTagent), customer service system, marketing system, or AMR system s data exchange. All data related to security needs digital certificates. All access needs customer s authentication and is limited by user s rights. All data when transfer is encoded and encrypted. 10 2.6 Compatibility and Expansibility SMARTvend adopts unified power vending and revenue collection method, can be compatible with IC card prepayment energy meter, STS keypad prepayment energy meter, post-payment energy meter with several remote communication ways as well as STS keypad energy meter produced by different manufacturers. Meanwhile, it makes SMARTvend be compatible with prepayment energy / water / hot water / gas meter with different types and different protocols through system third party s extended interface base. 11 2.7 Load bearing Capacity Load-bearing capacity contains system database design capacity, database-supporting data capacity, online subscriber- allowed visit capacity, and equivalent hardware equipment capacity,etc. As the system s target user shall be national electricity company, the system s subscriber quantity has been thoroughly schemed at the beginning of database design. The system defines 10- character length(5 characters for organization code and 6 characters for subscriber sequence number)for each subscriber s corresponding and unique serial number. The system is multi-subscriber application system which is allowed multi-subscribers simultaneously to practice variety of on-line operations. The system subscriber serial number is 20-character length, and fully meets demand which is allowed operators with different names or code numbers to register. Furthermore, SMARTvend system does not have limit on online subscriber quantity. The system adopts multi-web servers in parallel, and is allowed to add equipment according to requirement so as to meet demand which multi-subscribers can simultaneously log in the system. Inhemeter has taken into account demand for volume data and online multi-subscribers at the beginning of bidding proposal design. Therefore the hardware equipment which we recommend is based on application requirement for sizeable enterprise users and meets demand of equipment extension and upgrading in future. 2.8 Transaction capacity The system supports different types of transaction creation security module, and has access to high-speed security module under conditions of multi-network distribution structure and the third-party vending. The system can has capability of 900 transactions per minute, and even 1500 transactions per minute if there is less arithmetic. The system can create variety of transaction TOKEN including recharge, encryption key modification, tamper record reset, balance amount reset, load threshold modification, shift between prepayment mode and post-payment mode. The system is allowed to monitor process status of security module and balance amount to ensure safe and stable running of the whole SMARTvend system. 10 / 28

SMARTvend schemes report service& data automatic analysis so as to enhance server s comprehensive analysis for vending data and reading data. 14 3. Smart Vending Agent (SMARTagent) 3.1 System Introduction SMARTagent is the third-party agent subsystem of SMARTvend system which is applied in management of the third-party vending agency. SMARTagent is unique connection to vending system, and provides the third party variety of interfaces to the system. The third-party vending agents(bank, post office, portable POS, ATM, mobile telecommunication company) apply for demands of vending, inquiry and recharge; at the same time, it provides scratch- card vending interface and POS vending interface as well. Meanwhile, the system shall manage their commission distribution rule, and the third-party agents will not have limits on data in the system. It s easy to check agent s account balance and gained commission in the module. The system will monitor the third-party agent s account on real time; when it finds some agent s account balance is lower than preset level, the system will send or SMS message to another system- Smart Messager Anywhere( SMARTmessager) so as to inform agent to recharge his account. 16 3.4 Real Time Transaction Inquiry We can check through SMARTagent all the third-party agents vending transaction data on real time including electricity, amount, commission, etc. We can acquire how much time a transaction will take from receiving to ending as well, so that we can analyze network current processing, and improve network or add servers upon full load which will help the system to realize optimum efficiency. 3.5 Data Exchange Interface Vending request and reconciliation with SMARTvend SMARTagent can connect to several SMARTvend systems. It can automatically connect to associated SMARTvend system based on third party request, and realize service request, such as vending, inquiry, It can also realize automatic meter number synchronization and business reconciliation with SMARTvend. Smart Meter Viewer (SMARTview) 5.1 System Overview SMARTview is the subsystem of Inhemeter smart reading system. It can do centralized and remote meter reading, remote control, remote auto-recharge, remote download rates set/load control threshold, remote authorized changing meter operating parameters, managing the meter`s inventory, installation and whole life cycle, managing meter user information file, analyzing power supply circuit (area), analyzing power distribution network quality data, initiatively reporting the grid line loss and abnormal events, connecting with the national payment system and the power company management system, providing power company managements with the statements and data. SMARTview can management different device, like meter, PLC concentrator, RF Concentrator, Zigbee Concentrator, GPRS data collector eg.. And supports many types of communication protocol. like DLMS, G/W 376, DLT , DLT , IEC eg.. For GPRS meters, SMARTview supports two communicate way. All time online or SMS wakeup. For SMS wakeup mode, need SMPP service in SMARTmessager support. If operator read a meter which is offline, SMARTviewer will connect SMARTmessager interface, and SMPP service will send a wakeup SMS. If meter receive the wakeup SMS, will start the connection process. SMARTviewer check meter status is online, then send reading command. After receive meter running data, show on web form. 20 / 28

26 It can realize centralized resident purchasing power in any vending point, also can satisfy customers living in remote areas purchasing power by SMS, POS or other third party agent service. It has high requirements for hardware equipment performance and data security, the one-time investment is large, but the later maintenance costs are small. As the above chart: Centralized data management hardware including database servers, storage devices, the transaction server, Web server, SMS server, FTP server, server and load balancer, generated by scratch cards, and UPS, optical switches, firewalls and other network and security equipment. In order to guarantee the reliability of the vending service, each server adopts double machine hot standby mode (as the above red line). According to the above described centralized data management architecture and the recommended hardware equipment, SMARTvend and other related procedures, can manage more than 2 million users, and transaction records are more than one day. Concentrator type data management architecture has been used in several projects. This architecture has the safe, stable and convenient characteristics of power purchasing, and won high praise of customers. 7. Site Implementation 7.1 Overview This part is the guidance document of Shenzhen Inhemeter Cor,.Ltd(in short Inhemeter), aiming at DDZ1513 and DTZ1513 energy meter and SMART vend. 29 9.4.2 Software 6-12 months of on-site training and program modification is provided to help system administrators with the equipment installation and commission, system configuration, system establishment and training, frequent problems solution, data maintenance training, etc. Then, on-line services of 7*24 hours , technology solution, technology solution and training by telephone are provided in the working hours (GMT+8:00, 9:00-18:00). If remote service cannot solve the problem, engineers will be sent to solve the practical problems on site.
