14 New Functions of the DBK 1.8 The layout of the GESIS web was used to display the study descriptions. Some study descriptions do contain more than just the main title, e.g. original language titles or alternative titles. The dates of collection have been standardized in the format DD.MM.YYYY (ranges and repeats are possible). Information about the Geographic Coverage has been standardized according to ISO and -2. In the advanced search a second Year of Collection may be used - and with that a range of years may be searched. Information in the Universe and Further Remarks fields has been cleaned. The documentation is displayed on tabs to allow easier access to different sections.

15 New Functions of the DBK 1.9 For each study the recommended citation is displayed on the first tab. Data Download is possible free of charge after registration and login. Studies that cannot be downloaded may be ordered via the shopping cart system. Products are displayed, e.g. CD-ROMs or DVDs to which the studies belong, and may be ordered. Groups to which the studies belong are shown on a separate tab. For each study description the content may be downloaded in DDI format. Available formats are DDI-Codebook (2.0) and DDI-Lifecycle (3.1).
