4 Chapter CEO Uphold all By-Laws and Articles of Incorporation for Wichita SHRM. Complete and submit SHAPE for previous year. Conduct strategic planning meeting for the purpose of defining the direction of the chapter. Ensure compliance with the chapter s mission and the state, regional and national objectives. Conduct Executive Board meetings Facilitate monthly member meetings. Monitor and mentor chapter officers, board members, and standing committees for the purpose of ensuring the continuity of performance and volunteer positions. Ensure fiscal soundness of the chapter Review Contracts Review and approve STPs Review Treasurers Report monthly Monitor expenses on an on-going basis Annual Budget & Goals for up-coming year Review and approve all publications prior to publishing. Write articles for HR Focus quarterly. 6 By-Laws SHAPE Preparation co-chair Shadow President Strategic Planning Annual Audit Reviewer Attend National Leadership Conference Provides recommendations to the board nominating committee PRESIDENT - ELECT Responsible to train for the role of President. Assist the President in overseeing all the activities of the chapter. In the absence of the President or at the President s request, per form all the Presidential responsibilities.

7 PRESIDENT-ELECT SHAPE RESPONSIBILITIES REQUIRED Submit a completed Chapter Leader Information Form (CLIF) by December 1, of that year, to identify all board leaders in the coming year. REQUIRED Notify SHRM each time there is a change in the board during the year, via notification. REQUIRED Review chapter bylaws annually and update as needed, ensuring that all SHRM required Sections (refer to Model Bylaws in the VLRC) are included and do not conflict with SHRM bylaws. Make sure it is stated that Chapter President must be a member of SHRM during the entire term or office in the bylaws. Submit the proposed bylaws amendments to the Field Services Director (first step) and return a copy of the signed, ratified bylaws to the Member Engagement Associate (last step). REQUIRED Par ticipate in the state/regional leadership conference/event in REQUIRED Conduct an annual leadership transition meeting, an annual planning meeting and provide input on the leadership succession plan. REQUIRED Collect information and work with President to complete the SHAPE for submittal to SHRM PREFERRED FOR SILVER AWARD Represent the chapter at the role year SHRM Volunteer Leaders Summit. * Can send another board member. PREFERRED FOR GOLD AWARD Represent the chapter at the role year SHRM Volunteer Leaders Summit. * Can not send a board member other than President or Presiden-Elect.

REQUIRED create/review the leadership succession plan to identify potential and future leaders for the chapter, reviewing the plan at least annually to ensure it is meeting chapter needs.

18 VP, MEMBERSHIP SHAPE RESPONSIBILITIES REQUIRED When requested, submit the chapter membership roster for auditing by SHRM staf f and periodically request a membership repor t from the Membership Engagement Associate to conduct an internal audit. Refer to SHAPE Planning Workbook for specific format required. Submit the name and SHRM member ID number of new chapter members to the Member Engagement Associate as they join or as internal audits are concluded. Submit the name and SHRM membership IF number of the expired SHRM members in the chapter to the Member Engagement Associate. Additions and Removals can be submitted at the same time so long as the action needed taken is addressed (I.e. add to the chapter/remove from the chapter). REQUIRED Provide the total number of chapter members as of December 31 st of the role year. Includes both Local Members Only (LMOs) and In -Chapter SHRM Members as indicated in chapter records. Do not round the number. REQUIRED Par ticipate in the state/regional leadership conference/event in role year. REQUIRED At least ten (10) SHRM members primarily coded to the chapter or thir ty percent (30%) of its chapter membership must be active SHRM members, whichever is GREATER. [Looking for ward to 1/1/17 at least twenty -five (25) SHRM members primarily coded to the chapter AND a minimum of fif ty -one percent (51%) of its membership must be active SHRM members.] PREFERRED FOR GOLD AWARD Achieve Membership Star recognition for growth of SHRM membership in the chapter by at least percent over the 12/31/14 count, as outlined in the SHAPE Planning Workbook PREFERRED FOR PLATINUM AWARD Achieve Membership Super Star recognition for growth of SHRM membership in the chapter by at least three percent, as outlined in the SHAPE Planning Workbook

Discuss how they can become involved in the legislative process to impact the outcome of the pending legislation.

Communications REQUIRED Participate in the state/regional leadership conference/event in REQUIRED Ensure that the current SHRM AFFILIATE OF logo is correctly, consistently and prominently displayed in accordance with the Graphics Standards Guide for Affiliates. Check all materials to include, but not be limited to, stationary, newsletter mastheads, meeting agendas, chapter PowerPoint templates, name tags and conference programs. [Please check the Prezi] REQUIRED Promote the SHRM Annual Conference & Exposition to chapter members (refer to SHAPE Planning Workbook & VLRC for suggestions) PREFERRED FOR GOLD / PLATINUM AWARD Serve as a resource to the community or local media on HR issues This includes chapter members serving on other nonprofit community groups as an official representative of the chapter. Develop a relationship with representatives of local media (I.e. TV, radio, newspapers) establishing points of contact to be the voice of HR in our community.
