1 Dokuz Eylül University School of Reha Midilli Foça Tourism and Hotel Management Welcome to the School of Reha Midilli Foça Tourism and Hotel Management About Dokuz Eylül University Dokuz Eylül University, which was founded in 1982, is a public university and one of the biggest universities in the city and in the Aegean Region. The University has 12 faculties, 10 institutes, 6 schools, 6 vocational schools, 1 conservatory and 36 research centers, 3055 academic personnel and students. School of RMF Tourism and Hotel Management is at the second rank in Turkey. We congratulate Miss Hacer Oğuz who registered to our school with the highest score ( points) and thus took our School to the first rank in the list of schools with the students registered with the highest score. School of RMF Tourism and Hotel Management is at the second rank among the schools listed according to the university entry exam scores. Tourism and Hotel Management gives four-year tourism education leading to a Bachelor of Arts Degree in tourism and hotel management. All our students take one year of language preparation in English before starting four years of professional education in tourism. The medium of teaching is Turkish and English. %30 of courses are offered in English. From the second academic year on, our students learn second foreign language by choosing one among Germany, French and Russian. Students are required to complete two summer internships in organizations operating in tourism industry as a part of their education. 2 RMF & Student Associations (SA) By encouraging voluntary activities and participation in economic, social and cultural fields of life, RMF aims to support the students in taking responsibility, acting as entrepreneurs and making contribution to the local. SA organize social and cultural activities to enrich students life. Owing to extra-curricular activities held by SA, students put the theoretical knowledge into practice by seizing the opportunities in Foça and similar tourist towns. All students of the School of RMF Tourism and Hotel Management can become a member of the SA and take a role in the activities organized. RMF Library Library with 1,500 books, tables for 40 people and sea view. Online access to books and journals. RMF and Seminars During academic year, seminars have been organized at the School. Seminars are given by the professionals and are offered to our students free of charge. Seminar topics include Service Quality, HACCP, ISO9000, Quality Costs, Occupational Safety, Performans Evaluation Methods and etc. Life at the RMF With great sea view, library, computer lab., activity hall, canteen, dining hall, foyers and garden, academic life at the RMF becomes a pleasure. RMF & Dance Our students have a society for dance activities and participate to courses held by the Foça Public Education Center and Foça Municipality. Coordinator of the students society for dance is Lecturer Nil SONUÇ. Number of Students Structural and technical infrastructure As of academic year, we have 125 students. Two multimedia and language classrooms 4 modern classroom with 50 seats 3 modern classroom with 40 seats Multi-functional hall with 100 seats (for meetings, demonstrations etc.) Library (single tables, spacious room with sea view, 1500 books) Computer room with 40 computers Canteen with100 seats 2 lounges with sea views Large garden with Foça view Wireless access at campus Accomodation Foça is a seasonal tourism destination. During the academic year (which starts in September and ends in June) our students generally rent the second houses until the owners come during the summer season. Also our school has a dormitory with capacity of 46 students.

3 Transportation There are buses between Izmir city garage and Foça for every 30 minutes Or you can travel by train (IZBAN) in the direction of Aliaga. If you take the IZBAN, get off at the station Hatundere and take the bus to Foca (Bus No. 744) From downtown: From the bus station to go back along the main road. Turn into the third street on your right and go straight. Above left, you will see our School.
