3 Configuring Entourage 2008 to connect to the University s Exchange service 1 Background The purpose of this guide is to explain how to configure Entourage 2008 on a Mac computer to connect to the University s Exchange service. Section 3 of this document explains how existing Entourage users can change account settings in preparation for the Exchange Server mailbox migration. 2 Configuring a new Entourage 2008 account Use this section to create a new account for the first time. To modify existing accounts e.g. for the Exchange mailbox migration refer to section Launch Entourage. 2. Pull down the Tools Menu and select Accounts. 3. Select the Mail tab and then click the New button. 4. Click on the Account Settings tab and specify an Account Name (this is just a description), enter your Name and your University -address in to the appropriate fields. 5. Under Authentication, click the radio button called Use my account information. 6. Enter your University username and password into Account ID and Password fields. In the Domain field, type: DS (If you work in Central Admin, type ADMIN into the Domain field) 7. Place a tick next to the Save password in my MAC OS keychain option. 8. The Exchange server address should be entered as: urusername@ds.leeds.ac.uk 9. Place a tick next to the This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL) option. Select the Advanced tab and under Public Folder Settings, enter the Public folders server as: Place a tick next to the This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL) option. 12. Configure the following under Directory Settings: LDAP server: ds.leeds.ac.uk Place a tick next to the This server requires me to log on option. Ensure that Override default LDAP port is ticked and that the port number is set to Maximum number of results to return: 1000 Search base: dc=ds,dc=leeds,dc=ac,dc=uk 13. When complete, click OK. 5 Configuring Entourage 2008 to connect to the University s Exchange service 14. After configuring the account, Entourage will ask you to authenticate to the Exchange server. 15. For security, only tick the Save password box if your computer is in a secure location and no-one else ever uses it. The first time a connection is made, your Exchange , calendar and contacts are synchronised with Entourage to enable you to work offline in future. This may take a few minutes depending on the volume of mail you have. A progress bar will be displayed in the bottom right hand corner of the entourage window. 6 Configuring Entourage 2008 to connect to the University s Exchange service 3 Modifying existing accounts / Troubleshooting Please follow steps 1 and 2 to change your account settings in preparation for the mailbox migration. If you experience problems accessing your mailbox with Entourage once your mailbox has been migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007, please check each of the following steps in turn; 1. Verify that you are using Entourage 2004 version v or later (This can easily be upgraded for free from within Entourage by selecting 'Check for Updates' from the Help menu). 2. Within Entourage, verify that the Account Settings screen has the Exchange Server field configured with an address of: outlook.leeds.ac.uk/exchange/yo urusername@ds.leeds.ac.uk (substitute yourusername with your actual username) Follow the steps in Section 2 of this document for further assistance. 3. Create a new profile/identity within Entourage in order to connect to Exchange: a. Click the Entourage drop down menu and select Switch Identity. b. Click Switch Identity. c. Click the New button. d.
