The Hamilton Heritage Conservation Grant Program (HHCGP) is intended to provide financial assistance in the form of matching grants between $1,000 to $5,000 for the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage resources. The objective of the Hamilton Heritage Conservation Grant Program is to assist in the on-going conservation of heritage properties designated under the Ontario Heritage Act that are not eligible for the Hamilton Heritage Property Grant Program (HHPGP). Generally, this includes the conservation of significant architectural features such as windows and doors, and the reconstruction of former architectural features. Heritage Tax Refund 40% reduction in taxes for a property or portion of a property that is designated or is part of a heritage conservation district, and subject to a heritage easement. grant, the amount of which is subject to Council approval, in an amount not exceeding the increase in municipal realty taxes as a direct result of the development/redevelopment of land and/or building. The grant which may be approved by Council shall be an amount which does not exceed 75% of the municipal realty tax increase during the term of the grant. Tax Increment Financing tied to developer, rather than a specific area. Tax refunds for years OR one-time postassessment cash grant for the lump sum equivalent of the year tax increment refund. To finance the one-time post-assessment cash grant, CentreVenture borrows the cash amount from a traditional lender on behalf of the City and the Province. While the City and the Province are precluded from borrowing funds, CentreVenture as a corporation is able to. Manitoba passed special legislation which contributes $20 M to a Downtown Residential Grant Program. City has matched that funding for a total of $40M. Additional year at %75 if proposal includes assisted living facilities and developments that exceed the minimum requirements for barrier-free design. Professional Design Grant: Provides funding for architectural design services to a maximum of $2,500. Additional part of the program allows for developers to take the preassessed incremental tax and receive the one-time lump sum cash grant as bridge financing. CentreVenture acts as a second lender, financing the project directly with a sum equal to the project assessed lump-sum grant.
