3 ABOUT RECRUITEX ABOUT RecruiteX is the recruitment index for India. It is an analysis identifying the hiring activity and trends in India Inc. Based on tactful extraction and examination of jobs posted and applied for in a month, it details 'recruitment' as a process backed by hiring sentiments of a recruiter and aspirations of a job seeker. It is the only report which decodes the hiring trends in the country after evaluating the demand and supply of talent across industries. METHODOLOGY RecruiteX represents the demand and supply aspects of recruitment. Demand for talent is computed by factoring activities of recruiters on TimesJobs.com. The supply of talent is representative of activities conducted by job-seekers on TimesJobs.com. This demand and supply data is integrated with numbers collected by our offline team and then segregated according to top industry verticals, functional areas and locations. The base value for the index has been kept at 100 for the month of December All RecruiteX values for subsequent months represent the trend of RecruiteX viz-a-viz December The supply data has been recalibrated in the month of August 2015 to incorporate market reality. RecruiteX, in its most comprehensible format, is aimed to provide a detailed insight of the recruitment market in India to employers, recruiters and job seekers alike.

5 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Talent demand rose by 2 per cent during October 2015 as hiring activity picked up pace across key sectors, reveals the latest RecruiteX, the recruitment index of TimesJobs.com. Overall, hiring activity has witnessed a 2 per cent rise since August Among key sectors, IT, BPO/ITeS and consulting services posted a significant rise in demand for talent. Engineers were in demand in October Entertainment/ media/journalism professionals posted the maximum rise in demand. Among key locations, metros saw buoyant talent demand with Chennai witnessing the highest rise followed by Bengaluru. Hiring activity was active across experience categories barring over the 20-years experience bracket, which reported a 1 per cent drop in demand during the month. Candidates with less than 2 years of experience witnessed the maximum rise in demand. The category posted a rise of 11 per cent in month-over-month analysis. The supply index witnessed a 9 per cent drop during October IT/telecom and retail industries reported the maximum drop in supply of talent during the month. These sectors witnessed an average drop of 25 per cent in job-seeking activity during the month of October 2015.

6 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY DEMAND Among the key sectors, consulting services industry reported 9 per cent rise in hiring. IT/telecom posted 4 per cent rise Engineers reported 9 per cent rise in demand. Entertainment/media/ journalism professionals witnessed 13 per cent rise in talent demand 80 Demand for talent January 2015 October 2015 Among metros, Chennai witnessed 16 per cent rise in demand. Among states, Andhra Pradesh (except Hyderabad) reported 21 per cent rise in demand The October 2015 demand index was buoyant for candidates across experience categories. Candidates with less than 2 years of experience saw the highest (11%) rise in demand Overall, hiring rose by 2% during October IT/telecom and consulting sectors, core and support functions and metros contributed to the rise in hiring activity

7 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Supply of talent 60 January 2015 October 2015 SUPPLY IT/telecom and retail industry witnessed an average 25 per cent drop in supply of talent during October 2015 Business management/consultants/freelancers reported the maximum (over 30%) drop in job-seeking activity during October IT/telecom professionals reported 27 per cent drop in supply Among top locations, Bengaluru witnessed the maximum (18%) drop in jobseeking activity. Delhi NCR witnessed 16 per cent drop in supply of talent Supply of talent was low across most experience categories barring experienced candidates with years and over 20 years of experience The supply index registered 6 per cent drop in month-over-month analysis. IT/telecom and retail industries were the main contributors to this drop in supply of talent

8 Recruitment trend by INDUSTRY DEMAND Among the top ten sectors, IT/telecom registered 4 per cent rise in hiring activity during October Consulting services sector reported 9 per cent rise in demand ITeS/BPO and travel & hospitality sector saw 3 per cent rise in hiring during the month. BFSI and construction sectors reported 2 per cent rise in demand Consumer durables/fmcg and petrochemicals sectors saw a drop of 5 per cent in demand during October 2015 SUPPLY Among top ten industries, the IT/ telecom industry reported maximum (29%) drop in supply of talent followed by the retail sector (22%) in October 2015 Infrastructure (14%) and consumer durables/fmcg (7%) sectors were the only ones to post growth in supply during the month The petrochemicals and BFSI sectors reported an average 12 per cent drop in supply of talent during October 2015 Demand for talent rose across most key industry segments. 9 Recruitment trend by FUNCTION DEMAND Among key functional areas, engineers reported 9 per cent rise in demand during October This profile has witnessed growth after a two-month slump Entertainment/media/journalism professionals witnessed 13 per cent rise in demand during the month. IT/telecom professionals saw 8 per cent rise in demand Business management/consultants/ freelancers and hospitality professionals reported 7 per cent rise while accounting & finance profile saw a 6 per cent rise SUPPLY Business management/consultants/ freelancers saw the highest (over 30%) drop in job-seeking activity. IT/telecom professionals posted 27 per cent drop in supply Customer service/tele calling profiles posted 20 per cent drop in supply in October 2015 Entertainment/media/journalism saw over 30 per cent rise in talent supply. 10 Recruitment trend by LOCATION DEMAND Among top ten locations, Chennai reported the maximum (16%) rise in demand during October 2015 Bengaluru and Hyderabad posted 14 per cent rise in talent demand during the month. Delhi NCR was the only metro to report drop (6%) in demand during October 2015 Among states, Andhra Pradesh (except Hyderabad) saw 21 per cent rise in demand. 11 Recruitment trend by EXPERIENCE DEMAND Candidates with less than 2 years of experience reported the maximum (11%) rise in demand during October Their demand was up in September 2015 also Candidates with 2-5 years, 5-10 years and years of experience witnessed 3 per cent rise in demand during the month Candidates with over 20 years of experience were the only segment to report a drop (1%) in demand SUPPLY Candidates with 2-5 years experience reported the maximum (8%) drop in jobseeking activity followed by candidates with less than 2 years of experience (7%) Candidates with 5-10 years of experience reported a drop of 5 per cent in job-seeking activity during October 2015 Candidates with years and over 20 years of experience registered an average rise of over 20 per cent in supply during the month Demand for talent grew across experience categories.
